CH 41
Gia knew she shouldn’t
be at his door, she wasn’t even sure if she could trust him anymore but she
didn’t know who else to go to. She acknowledged him slightly as he let her in,
brushing past him and sitting down on his couch. “How could you tell him?”
She asked with tears in her eyes, she was so tiered. She had slept in her car
that night. “Gia, he was asking because he was concerned about you.” He
answered. “You had no right Sonny!” Gia yelled as she stood up and turned
away from him. “Gia, I’m not his biggest fan, but Nikolas seemed genuinely
concerned about you.” Sonny said. “Oh course he does, he loves me.” Gia
said turning to face him again. “Then what’s the problem princess?” Sonny
asked. “Now he just thinks I’m damaged goods. Everyone in his life already
sees me as some tramp from Brooklyn, now they’re going to know that it’s
true.” Gia said as tears rapidly fell from her eyes. Sonny placed his hands on
her shoulders and looked into her eyes. “Gia, you are not a tramp. What your
uncle did to you was sick.” He said. Gia looked down sadly. “I just want to
forget about it.” She sobbed. “I know, but it happened Gia and you need to
face it.” Sonny said. “Why? I don’t get why Nikolas feels the need to dig
into this. I just want to put it past me and move on but I don’t get why he
can’t just drop it.” Gia said softly. Sonny wrapped his arms around Gia.
“He loves you. He just wants to help.” He said as he rubbed her back
soothingly. “I need to go.” Gia said pulling away from her friend.
“Where?” Sonny asked softly. “I’m having lunch with Zander.” Gia
stated before walking out.
Nikolas had been driving
for over an hour looking for Gia. He couldn’t believe how upset she was. He
knew it would be hard for her to talk about, but he never expected her to be in
such deep denial about it. The look on her face killed him. Not only did she
look upset, but she also looked betrayed. When she stormed off, he had decided
to give her some space and spent the night alone but when woke up the next
morning, he realized that she had left the island. He was not sick with worry as
he drove. He had first checked Alexis and Kristina’s cottage but didn’t find
her there. He now was heading for Sonny’s penthouse. When he arrived at
Sonny’s door, he realized that he was alone. “Have you seen Gia?” Nik
asked. Sonny looked away from him. “Uh yeah I’ve seen her but she didn’t
seem like she wanted to see you right now.” Sonny replied. Sonny was stunned
when Nik grabbed him roughly by his suit and came inches from his face. “Tell
me where Gia is NOW!” Nik yelled. Sonny was not happy with Nik’s attitude
but decided to tell him. “She’s having lunch with Zander.” Sonny said
cockily. Nik pushed Sonny away with rage and stormed off to Kelly’s.
“Are you sure you’re
OK Gia?” Zander asked as he reached out and touched her hand with concern.
“Yeah it’s just been a long day.” Gia said as she nodded her head. “Well
you look beautiful as always.” Zander said smiling. Gia returned his smile.
“Thank you.” She said shyly. “Gia, I need to tell you something.” Zander
said. Gia looked up at him. She gasped when he was suddenly pulled out of his
chair and struck across his face. “Nikolas!” Gia said standing up as she
looked down at Zander who was on the floor. “I told you to stay away from
her.” Nik said angrily to Zander. “Nikolas stop!” Gia said. Nik finally
turned to Gia and locked eyes with her. As they did every time they’re eyes
would connect like this, they saw deep into each other’s soul. Gia looked away
from him. “No.” Nik said stubbornly as he kicked Zander in the stomach.
“Nikolas no!” Gia cried out. “I will if you come home with me.” Nik
said. Gia shook her head no. Nik brought his foot back. “Fine! I’ll go home
with you Nikolas!” Gia yelled desperately.
The car ride home was a
silent one. Gia sat looking out the window of Nik’s Jag. She was furious with
him. She couldn’t believe the scene he had caused in the restaurant. She
thought about Zander, on the floor and balled up in pain. She felt concerned for
him. She didn’t know why. Seeing him had brought back old feelings. She felt
his gaze on her briefly but ignored it. She soon fallowed his lead and glanced
over at him, it stunned her how calm he was as he drove. The silence in the car
almost made her want to scream. But she didn’t want to give Nikolas the
impression that she was talking to him.
Nikolas contently kept
his gaze on the road as he drove. He was aware of how quiet it was in the car.
He knew that Gia was mad at him. But he didn’t care. All he had cared about
was getting her away from Zander. He thought that if they could just go home,
things would somehow be better. He quickly glanced over at her. He didn’t
think she had noticed. He wondered if there was something else going on. He
forced himself to remain calm even though his mind was spinning with thoughts of
what was wrong with her.
The moment that Nikolas
opened the door to Wyndemere Gia pushed past him and stormed upstairs. If she
wasn’t in such a state of rage, she might have heard the sound of his
footsteps two steps behind hers. As she swung the door to her old bedroom
opened, she gasped when Nikolas stepped in behind her and shut the door behind
him. “Nikolas, I’m not in the mood. We’ll talk about this tomorrow.” Gia
said. “No, we’re going to talk about it now. I was worried sick about you
and we are going to discuses it.” Nik stated. Gia’s eyes darkened. It almost
made Nik scared. “You do not get to tell me what to do Nikolas Cassadine! If I
don’t want to talk to you, I don’t have to.” Gia said pushing past him to
leave. Nik grabbed her by the arms and spun her around. Gia’s eyes danced, as
she looked up at him questioningly, shocked by his roughness. “Gia, why
won’t you talk to me?” Nik said desperately. Gia was shocked when she saw
tears fall from Nik’s eyes. Nik loosened his grip on her. When she continued
to not say anything, Nikolas let her go and walked away from her. “I thought
we could tell each other anything.” Nik said through his tears as he made his
way to the door. “Nikolas wait!” Gia called out. Nikolas slowly turned
around. “You won’t want me anymore Nikolas.” Gia cried as she wrapped her
arms around herself. Nikolas briskly walked up to her, causing her to flinch
slightly. “Don’t say that Gia. Don’t ever say that. I will always want
you. Please, just tell me everything.” Nik said touching her face. Tears ran
down Gia’s smooth cheeks as she leaned into his touch. Nik felt her nod her
head against his hand. He took her hand within his and guided her to Gia’s old
bed. He smiled as he remembered the first time they made love; it was in this
very bed. Nikolas held Gia to him and stroked her hair as she told him all about
the abuse she had to endure when she was young. He cried with her, kissed her
face, told her he loved her when she finished. “You’re still here.” Gia
said softly as she and Nikolas lay together. “Why do you think I would leave
you Gia?” Nik asked sitting up and caressing her cheek. “I’m so afraid of
losing you Nikolas, I’m a complicated person and you shouldn’t have to deal
with that. I’m damaged goods.” Gia said. Gia gasped when Nikolas took her
face in his hands and pulled her to his lips. Nik’s tongue darted out and Gia
quickly closed her mouth around it, sucking hungrily on it as she moaned into
his mouth. As abruptly as it started, Nik ended the kiss, pulling away from her
slightly, bending down to kiss her neck. “I love you Gia, there is nothing you
could do to make me stop. You have my heart.” Nik said desperately into her
ear. Gia sobbed as she wrapped her arms around him. “I’ll never let it
go.” Gia whimpered as she clung to him.
