CH 4

Nikolas was tiered after his soccer practice; all he wanted to do was take a nap. But he needed to take a shower and get ready for the party tonight. He put on a pair of black pants, along with a black formfitting t-shirt. He came downstairs to find Lucky and a few other friends already there. They each had a beer in their hands and someone had put on the music, getting ready for the party. Soon more people started to come and the party was in full swing. “Hey man, there are a lot of good looking girls here tonight. I have a friend Zander who’s brining a friend that goes to Saint Mary’s even.” Lucky said raising his eyebrows to Nikolas. Nik laughed. “Is she going to wear her uniform and everything?” Nik asked. “I wish. I’ve heard she’s hot.” Lucky said. “Yeah well there’s only one girl I’m interested in tonight and that's Maggie.” Nik said. “Hey I say play the field, you can’t just pick one. There are lots of lovely women out there, why not explore your options?” Lucky said. Nik rolled his eyes. “Yeah well I think Maggie is enough woman for me, you know she just broke up with Jake Sheer right?” Nik said. “Yeah who doesn’t? Look I’m telling you, it’s the way to go.” Lucky said. Nik shook his head and went to grab a drink.

“Zander are you sure we should be here? Look at this place.” Gia said as she looked around the huge home. “Relax Gia, have some fun OK?” Zander said. Gia looked around the party. “But I don’t know anyone here.” Gia complained. “Gia, come on, isn’t that a good thing? Expand your horizons?” Zander said. Gia glared at him. “Hey I see a friend, I’m going to go say hi, why don’t you walk around?” Zander suggested. Gia nodded her head and sighed as she walked around the place.

Nikolas spotted Maggie in the corner of the room and smiled at her. He went and got some punch from the refreshment table. “Spiked.” He said with a grin after taking a sip. He poured two cups and headed over to Maggie when he bumped into someone. The punch he was holding in his hands went spilling all over the white dress in front of him. Gia screamed as the cold red punch hit her body, starting from her shoulder, all the way down the front of her dress. She looked down at the huge red stain on her white dress, and suppressed the tears she felt rising. Instead of sadness, her mind filled with fury. “What is wrong with you?!” She yelled, turning to look up at him. Nikolas was numb as the beautiful girl locked her furious eyes onto his face, causing him to feel a mixture of panic and excitement. He had never seen anyone as beautiful as her. He had a hard time comprehending what she had said to him, but as his eyes roamed her body, the stain on her dress was a quick reminder of what he had done. “I..I wasn’t paying attention. Oh my god I am so sorry.” Nik said as he stared down at her with a dumb smile on his face, fascinated by how exotic looking she was. “You’re sorry? Right, you jerk! Now what am I going to do?” Gia yelled. Nik picked up napkin from the table and went to try and clean her dress. Gia backed away from him abruptly. “What are you doing?” She asked angrily. “Oh god, I don’t know I just.” Nik stumbled. “Well don’t touch me, I don’t feel like being groped OK?” Gia said angrily. “Look I said I’m sorry, I’m trying to help. How about I buy you a new dress? I have money.” Nik said, beginning to be annoyed by the girl’s attitude. “Oh you’ll pay for it. Well that’s going to help me so much right now. Look just stay away from me, and open your eyes when you walk.” Gia said shaking her head and moving to walk away, she felt his hand clamp down on her arm and looked up at him as he moved closer to her. “I can make it up to you? I bet we could find a way.” Nik said touching her face as he smiled seductively at her. “Get your hands off of me!” Gia yelled as she pushed him away roughly. Causing Nik to bump into the table behind him slightly. “What’s going on here?” Zander asked angrily as walked up and stood next to Gia. “This jerk just ruined my dress and now he tried to touch me, that’s what I get for dressing like a whore right?” Gia said leaning into Zander slightly. Zander wrapped his arms around her shoulders protectively and brought her head to his shoulder. Nikolas was shocked, his heart pounded as he thought about having hurt her feelings so much. “I’m sorry.” He said attempting to step closer to her. “Hey! Back off man.” Zander said angrily to Nikolas before he could come any closer. Zander turned his attention to a now crying Gia; he knew that it would take a lot to make Gia cry in public so she must have been going through some inner battles as well. “Gia, you don’t look like a whore, you look beautiful.” He said softly to her. She felt her shake her head no against him. “No I don’t, Phil’s right.” Gia cried. Nikolas felt a tugging at his heart as he heard her speak; he had to try again to apologize. “Gia?” Nik said her name, thinking to himself how lovely it was. “I was totally out of line just now and I apologize. Please, I meant what I said about the dress, I have money and am willing to replace it. Here, give me a call and we’ll make arrangement’s.” Nik said pulling out a business card from his wallet and holding it out to her. Gia lifter her head from Zander’s shoulder and looked over at him. For the first time, noticing how attractive he was. He seemed sincere. “Please take it.” He said at her hesitation. Gia nodded her head and took the card from his hand. “I want to go home.” She said turning to Zander. Nikolas felt a twinge of jealousy as he watched Gia walk away with Zander. He had an urge to go after her but was distracted by his friend. “Oh god Nikolas that was great.” Lucky said laughing. Nik glared at him. “Oh that was priceless, seeing that girl rip into you. I haven’t laughed that hard in weeks. But I think Maggie wants her drink still.” Lucky said. “Who?” Nik said, his thoughts still lingering on the girl he just met. “Ah you like Zander’s friend huh?” Lucky asked. Nik looked at him. “What?” He asked. “Yeah that was Zander’s friend from St. Mary’s nice huh?” He said. Nik nodded his head slowly. “They’re just friends?” Nik asked. “Yep, best friends. As far as I know she’s available, why do you think I invited him?” Lucky laughed. Nik once again nodded his head and thought about Gia, he needed to see her again.
