CH 13
“Damnit Jake, I said don’t pull on me!” Gia yelled as her shoulder was
throbbing. Moving her shirt to the side to reveal the slight bruise on shoulder,
it felt like Phil had pulled it out of its socket. She had startled Jake with
her scream and he flinched, running away from her crying. “Jake wait.” Gia
ran after him. She found him hiding behind the lazy-boy in her living room.
“Jakie.” She said softly, sitting on the floor next to him. He looked away
from her as he sniffled. “Sweetie, I’m sorry I yelled at you. My arm just
really hurts.” Gia cried as she rubbed the tender flesh of her shoulder. Jacob
lifted his head and slowly walked up to her. “I sorry.” He said lightly
stroking her injured shoulder, and then kissing it softly. Gia smiled weakly.
“I know Jakie it’s OK, you didn’t mean to hurt me. I’m sorry I yelled at
you.” Gia said, leaning in and kissing his cheek. “OK lets go get dressed
and ready for Carol’s alright?” Gia said getting up. “OK!” Jacob
shouted. He ran to his room to his dresser with a smile on his face. Another
character trait he had some how developed from his sister, his mood changing so
quickly. Gia walked to his room and got out a little pair of carpenter jeans and
a dark blue T-shirt for him. Gia painfully helped him get dressed, and then put
his shoes on for him. “OK buddy lets go.” Gia said. “Play with Nikki?”
Jake asked. Gia felt nauseous at the mention of his name. “No Jacob.” She
said, not having the guts to tell him that she never wanted him to see Nikolas
again.
Nikolas couldn’t even eat his lunch; he couldn’t get the feeling of nausea
in his stomach to ease for anything. He felt so guilty about what he did to Gia.
Even if she chose his brother over him, she was his friend and she didn’t
deserve to be treated like she was. He went over the whole scenario of the party
in his head all night. The look on her face, what she said about Jake, he knew
that he ruined her with his stupid arrogant attitude. Why wouldn’t she go to
his brother? She must have been so hurt. He needed to apologize to her and soon,
before he lost her forever, if he hadn’t already.
Nikolas rushed over to St. Mary’s as soon as his lunch break was over. He
needed to find Gia. He waited out front for her school to let out and watched
for her when all the girls began to swarm out of the gate. He spotted her
walking down the steps; he had never seen her like this. She hadn’t noticed
him yet. She was staring forward, not seeing him as he was to her right. She
looked so hurt, and she looked so lost. He slowly approached her, his heart
pounded as she finally noticed him, she looked furious. She started to increase
her speed to get away from him but he caught up to her. “Gia.” He said when
he reached her. “Stay away from me Nikolas! I can’t believe you’re even
trying to talk to me. Leave me alone!” Gia said roughly. “No, Gia please
listen to me. I don’t know what I was thinking, I was an idiot, I’m so
sorry.” Nik said reaching out to her. “I said leave me alone!” Gia yelled,
dodging his touch. “Gia don’t do this, don’t give up on what he have.”
Nikolas pleaded. “What we have? What we HAD were a bunch of lies! You never
wanted to be my friend. You just wanted to sleep with me and you weren’t above
using my BABY BROTHER to do it! Stay the hell away from me Nikolas!” Gia
screamed. “No Gia, it wasn’t like that! Please don’t say that, I love
Jacob. OK I admit that it was purely physical at first, I just thought you were
so beautiful. But it became more then that. I changed because of you. You made
me a better person. ” Nik said, emotion seeping through his voice. “You know
you’re good Nikolas, I would almost believe you if I didn’t know the truth
about you. I heard everything you told your friends. You pretended to be my
friend. Everything you said to me was a lie. I told you things I’ve never told
anyone before. I should have just gone with my gut instincts that you were a
mean, spoiled, selfish asshole who was only out for one thing, to fuck me!”
Gia cried. She turned to leave. “No!” Nik cried, he panicked as she started
to walk away from him and grabbed her arm to stop her. He was socked when Gia
cried out; winching in pain and he quickly dropped his hand, his heart pounding.
“Gia.” He said with concern. “NEVER touch me again!!” Gia screamed with
rage as she turned and ran onto the bus. Nikolas’ chest was heaving as he
stood there; tears began to roll down his cheeks. Nikolas Cassadine began to
sob, ignoring the stares from countless girls who walked by. He cried, knowing
that he just lost the one person who meant more to him then anything; he lost
the woman he loves.
Gia rushed into her house, waiting to pick Jake up, giving herself a few minutes
before walking next door. She threw herself on the couch, grateful that no one
would be home tonight, her mother being away on a business trip and Phil working
nights. She buried her face in her crossed arms and just wept. The events of the
last two days catching up to her. She wanted her life to be over. For everything
to just go away. Gia reached into her purse to dig out the little bottle of
pills she kept with her, pills that she knew if she took the whole bottle of, it
would kill her. She looked at it like she did so many times before,
contemplating leaving it all. Killing away the pain and misery in her life. She
just wanted the hurt to go away, and this was her only way to make it. She
struggled with the childproof cap but finally got it open, her hands shaking
like mad as tears streamed down her face. She looked at the bottle and tilted
her head back, dumping the contents in her mouth. She brought her head back up
and her eyes landed on a picture on the table next to her. Jacob’s face smiled
at her so brightly, fresh tears poured out of her eyes as she looked at it. She
loved him so much. She couldn’t leave him. She quickly bent over and spit out
all the pills, sobbing as she quickly bent over to pick them all up off of the
floor. She controlled herself, wiping the tears from her face as she went and
threw the pills away and she weakly walked towards the door to go get Jake.
Before she made it out however, her cell phone rang; she went to her purse to go
get it.
“Hello.” She said into the phone, her heart still pounding from the rush of
almost ending her life. “Hey beautiful! How are you?” Brandon asked. Gia
sighed. Her heart feeling lighter at his words. “I’ve had better days.”
She breathed. “Well how about I make tomorrow better? How does coffee
sound?” Brandon asked. Gia smiled slightly. “It sounds great, but I have to
watch my little brother tomorrow.” Gia answered. “Oh I see.” Brandon said,
disappointment apparent in his tone. “But I would really like to go! How do
you feel about me bringing him with me? He’s usually good in places like
that.” Gia asked. Brandon smiled on the other end of the phone. “Sounds fun
to me. I love little kids, bring him along.” Brandon said. Gia smiled. “OK
then, Ill see you tomorrow.” Gia said. “Bye Gia.” Brandon said softly. Gia
hung up the phone with a smile on her face, feeling so much better then she had
moments ago. Maybe she picked the right brother? She felt grateful that she
found out the truth about Nikolas now, before she really let him into her heart.
That she saw that he was just a pig who wanted to get with her for sex, that he
wasn’t the loving, caring guy she thought he was. She nodded her head.
“I’m going out with Brandon.” She smiled.
