CH 23

The fresh air felt wonderful on Gia’s face as she jogged. She felt comfortable in her knee high black exercise pants and purple top on the warm night. She was at the docks and stopped when she came to the launch to Wyndemere. She could see that the lights were on and wondered what Nikolas was doing right now. She sighed and started running again. She only ran a few feet before she bumped into someone and nearly fell over from the force. A pair of strong arms caught her before she fell all the way the to the ground.

“Oh my god, I’m so sorry.” Gia said. She looked up at the person, she was looking into a pair of crystal blue eyes. As her eyes focused on his face she saw that it was Lucky Spencer.

“Gia.” He said in a whisper.

Gia was confused. She had only seen Lucky a few times here and there but they never spoke to each other. Lucky looked around to make sure no one else was around and put his hands on her shoulders.

“Gia, I know about you and my brother.” Lucky said. He brought his finger to her lips to keep her from denying it.

“It’s OK, I’m not going to tell anyone. I’m going to help the two of you be together.” Lucky said quietly.

Gia took a look around the docks as well to make sure they couldn’t be heard. She looked back at him when she saw no one.

“Thank you.” Gia whispered.

“Here, this is for you.” Lucky said pulling out a letter and handing it to her.

“We’ll keep in touch Gia, read it.” Lucky said, pointing to the letter.

Lucky walked away with a smile on his face. His brother sure did have good taste in women. “Lucky bastard!” Lucky said to himself.

Gia sat down on the bench and read the letter.

My dearest Gia,

Last night was the most incredible night of my life. The love and magic I felt between us as we made love was like nothing I’ve ever felt before. Your beauty, inward and outward takes my breath away. In the one night I’ve spent with you I have come to know that you are the smartest, funniest, most beautiful woman I have ever met. When I look at you I see our future, one of marriage, children and growing old together. I know that our families don’t want us to be together but I truly believe that something more powerful does, whether it is god, the universe or simply fate but we were meant to be together. I love you Gia and I will do anything within my power to be with you. Lucky has said that he will help. If you ever need me, go to Lucky and he will find a way to get you to me. In the case that I need to get a massage to you, I will tell it to Lucky. Your secret name is Sparky (I like that, don’t you?) so if Lucky ever comes up and calls you Sparky, you know that he means it’s a message from me. You’ll see me sooner than you think Sparky, I love you and I WILL see you again. See you in my dreams my love.

Gia’s heart felt like it was twice as big when she finished reading the letter, she let out a huge sigh as she smiled happily.

“What do you have there?”

Gia jumped at the sound of the loud voice; she looked up to see Juan standing over her.
