~Five
weeks later~
Gia
opened her eyes to find her mother sitting by the bed next to her. She had been
in the hospital for five weeks and today was the day that they were going to let
her out. When she first arrived she had concussion and a bruised rib. Other then
that all she had were small cuts and bruises now. She was still stiff and sore
when she moved but she was well enough to go home. Gia woke up asking for
Nikolas, but her cousin reminded her of what happened that day in the police
department. She still couldn’t believe that Nikolas, her Nikolas could kill
her cousin. She cried every time she thought about it.
“Gia,
baby, are you ready to go?” Flo asked. Gia smiled weakly and nodded her head.
They arrived at her cottage and she got out. She walked in and looked around,
the place looked the same but felt different for some reason. She wrapped her
arms around herself sadly as she sat down on the couch.
“Honey,
are you OK?” Flo asked. Gia nodded her head.
“I
think I need to be by my self for a while.” She said softly.
“Gia
are you sure? You just got out of the hospital.” Flo said.
“I
need this mom, please.” She said. Flo nodded her head and gave Gia a hug
before she left. Gia sat silently, tears flowing from her eyes as she thought of
all that she had lost. Her cousin, who had been shot and her husband who had
been committed of murdering him. There was a knock at the door and Gia went to
go get it. Marcus smiled at his little sister as she opened the door.
“Hey
come on in, I should be mad that you didn’t visit me when I was in the
hospital but mom said you were really busy with a case.” Gia said leading him
over to the couch where they both sat down.
“Yeah
I’ve been really swamped at the department.” Marcus said.
“So
why did you stop by? Just to hang out or something? Because I’m really not in
the mood.” Gia said.
“Well,
I wanted to bring you something that I found. I think it belongs to you.”
Taggert said. He reached into his pocket and pulled out the gold ring that he
had been carrying around and handed it to her. Gia’s eye welled up with tears
as she looked at Nikolas’ ring, she pulled out her own ring that was berried
under her shirt on a chain with the diamond next to it and she read the familiar
inscription inside the gold band “Love thee”.
“Where
did you get this?” Gia breathed as tears streamed down her face.
“I
found it on the dock’s. Gia are you married to Nikolas Cassadine?” He asked.
“Yes!
Marcus what do I do? I love him!” Gia cried as she flung her arms around his
neck.
“Baby
girl, I’m not Sonny. I don’t have this grudge against that family like he
does. I think you need to go to him.” Taggert said.
“I
couldn’t if I wanted to Marcus, he’s in prison.” Gia said. Taggert was
shocked at this. What did Gia think happened?
“Gia
is that what Sonny told you? That Nikolas killed Juan. No one told you who
really killed Juan?” Marcus asked.
“What
are you talking about?” Gia asked shaking her head.
“Gia,
Nikolas didn’t kill Juan, Zander did. There was a struggle and Zander shot
him, it was an accident and he was scared so he ran. Well I guess the guilt got
to him and he turned himself in.” Taggert said.
“Oh
god.” Gia said, her mind racing as it tried to grasp what he was saying.
“Sonny?
He lied to me! Oh god what have I done?” Gia said panicky.
“He’s
going to hate me!” Gia cried. Taggert held her hands within his and looked
into her eyes.
“Go
to him baby girl, you deserve love Gia and if Nikolas Cassadine gives that to
you then you need to be with him.” Taggert said. Gia smiled and wrapped her
arms around Taggert’s neck. Quickly pulling away and running out the door.
