“Nikolas are you in here?” Lucky yelled as he entered his brother’s room at Wyndemere. Gia’s “death” left Nikolas in a state of deep depression. Lucky had never seen his brother this way. It started when Sonny had put a restraining order on Nikolas’ entire family, including himself, forbidding them to come to Gia’s funeral. Nikolas needed to say goodbye to her and he couldn’t. Since the news of his wife’s death he completely shut himself off from everyone. He wouldn’t speak to his family or friends, anyone. Lucky came to Wyndemere hoping that he could pull him together. He had searched the whole house and didn’t see him anywhere. He thought Nikolas was in his room but was concerned when he heard nothing coming from inside, answering his yells.

“Nikolas?” Lucky repeated as he pushed the door open and stepped in. He was shocked at what he saw. Nikolas was sitting on his bed as he stared out the window; he was in the same suit he was in the day he tried to go to Gia’s funeral. It looked like he hadn’t shaven in months and his hair was a mess. Lucky barely recognized his brother as his sad black eyes looked up at him.

“What?” Nik barked.

“What? Nikolas I haven’t seen you in weeks. Everyone’s worried sick about you. Come on bro, Gia wouldn’t want you to be like this.” Lucky said. Tears rolled down Nik’s face at the sound of her name, like they did every time he heard someone say it.

“I just, I can’t believe she’s gone!” Nikolas cried as his brother made his way over to him. Lucky held his brother as he cried with him. Tears over the loss of his friend consumed him as he let his emotions go. They held each other until their crying slowly ceased. Nik slowly pulled away from his brother and wiped his face.

“You’re right Lucky, she wouldn’t want me to be like this. I’m going to go get cleaned up.” Nik said. Lucky smiled and nodded his head as he wiped his eyes with the back of his hands. He heard the shower running and began to pick up the clothes that were scattered around his brother’s room.

Nikolas let the hot water rush over his body and let the pain begin to slightly subside as he ran the soap along his body. He washed his hair and cleaned up. He wrapped a towel around himself after he was done and quickly went to work shaving his face. He finished and went and put on a pair of jeans and a white T-shirt. He had to admit that he did feel better.

Lucky was making his brother’s bed for him; he bent over to clean up under the bed when he felt something. He picked it up and looked at what it was, a black bra. Nikolas came in and saw what his brother was holding. He quickly grabbed it from his brother’s hand. “It’s Gia’s.” Nik breathed. “I, I need to be alone Lucky, I tried but I just can’t see anyone right now.” Nik said. Lucky didn’t want to leave his brother in the condition he was in but he knew that he couldn’t argue with his brother so he nodded his head and walked out of the room.

Nikolas looked down at the soft undergarment in his hand and tears flowed down his face. His chin trembled when he lifted it up to his nose and inhaled slowly. He sobbed as the smell of his love flowed through his veins. He shook his head; thoughts of her came instantly flowing back to him. The scared look on her face the night they first met. The touch of her skin, the smell of her hair, and the look on her face as her orgasm swept over her body when they made love. The sight of her above him, her braids flying in the air as she bounced on the bed on the night of their wedding. The words she said to him, everything he remembered about his wife painfully hit him at once and a laud scream escaped his lips. His whole body trembled as he made his way to his drawer. He pulled out the gun that he owned; the pain was too hard for him to bear. He put the gun to his head and closed his eyes. “Nikolas.” He could have sworn he heard her say. Tears rolled down his cheeks and sobs escaped his mouth as he released the safety, the sound echoing in his ear.

“Nikolas!!” Gia screamed. A shot rang out and all went silent.
