CH 32 (Last chapter)

Nikolas watched in amazement on he and Gia’s bed as his son hungrily sucked on his mother’s breast. He had never seen anything more beautiful in all his life. Gia had a smiled on her beautiful face as she looked down at her baby. “Does it hurt?” Nik asked quietly. Gia looked up at him and smiled. “After that? No way!” Gia said laughing. “It’s a good hurt.” Gia said nodding. Nik continued to watch his son nurse, fascinated by the way his lips moved rapidly to drink his nourishment. When he finished nursing, Gia gently patted his back. Nik held out his arms and Gia handed the baby to him. “Well, hello my son.” Nik said, smiling down at the baby. “I’m going to show you everything. I’ll tell you everything I know and I’ll raise you how I was never raised. You have two parents who love you more than anything. I love you my son.” Nik said as he kissed his head. Gia had tears in her eyes at Nik’s words and she smiled at both of them.

There was a knock on the door and the minute Gia said to come in, the room instantly filled with people. The family all gushed over the baby. Stefan reached over and placed his hand on Nik’s should as he held his son. “I’m so proud of you Nikolas. I know you’ll be a wonderful father.” Stefan said as he looked down at the baby. Laura walked over and stood by Stefan. “I love you Nikolas, I’m so proud of you.” She said her eyes rimmed with tears.

The family all took turns holding the baby when Luke finally asked something that no one had yet to ask. “What’s the kids name?” He asked. “Well I kind of named him after you Luke.” Nik said looking over at him. Lucky now had the baby and he looked down at him and then back up at Nik. “You named him Luke?” He asked. Nik shook his head no. “No I got to pick his middle name.” Nik said. “So his middle name is Luke?” Lucky asked. Nik and Gia laughed and shook their heads. “No his middle name is Spencer.” Nik said. A huge smile spread across Luke’s face as he nodded his head, clearly touched by the gesture. “So you got to pick the first name?” Lucky asked looking over at Gia. She nodded her head yes. “It’s something that came to me in a dream.” Gia said. “Good god woman will you just say it already!” Luke said smiling at Gia. Gia laughed at Luke and looked over at the baby. “His name is Coltin. Coltin Spencer Cassadine.” Gia said taking the baby back from Lucky. Everyone nodded and agreed that they liked the name.

After Nik pushed everyone out, he sat on the bed next to Gia. He could still hear his family and friends having a good time downstairs. “He’s beautiful isn’t he?” Gia said looking up at Nikolas. “Gia he is the most beautiful baby I have ever seen. More beautiful than Ian.” Nik said. Gia laughed and punched him playfully. “We’ve come a long way haven’t we?” Gia said. “Yeah princess, we have. I’m so sorry I pushed you away.” Nik said as he caressed Gia’s face. “Your forgiven, come here.” Gia said pulling him in for a kiss. She pulled away and looked down at her baby. His bark curly hair and mocha colored skin were like her own, but his deep dark intense eyes mirrored his fathers. She couldn’t help but silently fear for his future. But she looked over at the man she loved, Nikolas, her lover and soul mate. She knew that whatever troubles Coltin would have, being the hair to the Cassadine Empire, he would be able to get through it like his father did. She leaned down and kissed her son, saying a silent prayer for him.

Nikolas looked at Gia; he was so grateful that he had her in his life. There was a time when he thought he would never see her again. Now, as he sat and looked at her holding his son, he vowed to never feel that feeling again. His friends and family loved him dearly. He was a father now and he was determined to be a great one. He reached over and grabbed the quilt his uncle had given him. He removed it from its spot across his pillow. He handed it to Gia who wrapped it around Coltin. He leaned over and kissed Gia passionately and leaned over and kissed his son who Gia had placed on the bed between them. He and Gia watched their son until he fell asleep, both drifting into a dreamless sleep as well.

The End.
