CH 22

Gia walked into Nik’s bedroom and spotted him in the corner of the room at his desk. He looked up when he saw her. “Hey.” He said smiling. Gia walked up, leaning down to kiss him on the lips. “What are you doing?” She asked when she pulled away. “I need to study, I’ve been putting it off but I need to get this paper done.” Nik said. “OK well Seth and I are going to go to Kelly’s and hang out together.” Gia said. Nik grunted as he wrapped his arms around her waist and hugged her to him. Gia ran her fingers through his hair as Nik laid his head against her stomach. “I wish I could go with you.” Nik said. “You weren’t invited.” Gia replied. Nikolas huffed and then quickly lifted up her shirt and blew on her tummy. Gia squealed with laughter. “Stop it! You are such a child.” Gia said laughing. “I’m a child? Come here you.” Nik said pulling her head down and crashing her lips to his in a passionate kiss. Gia reluctantly pulled away from him. “Seth’s waiting. And you need to work on that paper.” Gia said stepping away from him to get dressed. Nik grunted and dropped his head in his hands in frustration.

Gia came downstairs dressed in a pair of jeans and a white tank-top, her braids were pulled back in a ponytail and she had a bright smile on her face as she looked over at her best friend. Seth was dressed in a pair of khaki cargo pants and a Hawaiian shirt and he returned his friends smile as she walked up to him. “Let’s go G.” He said turning around, Gia quickly hopped on his back. An odd sight to see. Being that Gia is two inches taller then Seth. But Seth, in no way weak, easily walked out the door with Gia on his back.

Seth and Gia arrived at Kelly’s and ordered their meals, Seth a double cheeseburger and fries with a Coke, and Gia a chicken salad and an iced tea. “So what has Paul been up to lately?” Gia asked, watching as Seth’s smile grew at the thought of Paul. “He stopped by the club the other day but I didn’t have much time to talk to him because I was busy. But we’re going out on a date tomorrow night.” Seth said. Gia smiled. “Can I come?” She asked. “No!” Seth said shaking his head. Gia huffed. “So how are things going with you and Nikolas?” Seth asked, before taking another bite of his burger. “Good. I feel like I’ve become a distraction from his studies though.” Gia said. “Isn’t that a good thing in Nikolas’ case?” Seth asked. Gia shrugged. “I don’t know, proving to his uncle that he can do this is important to Nikolas.” Gia said. Seth nodded his head. Seth’s cell phone rang and he answered it as Gia continued to eat her salad. He hung it up and gave Gia a disappointed look. “That was Carly, the other bartender Charlie is sick so she needs me to work. Sonny’s limo is here out front and she said that I could get a ride over there. I’m so sorry but I have to go.” Seth said. “It’s OK sweetie, we brought my car so I’ll just finish my food and head back to the cottage.” Gia said smiling at him. Seth smiled back. “We’ll do this sometime soon, I promise.” Seth said and then bent down and kissed her head before he walked out.

After finishing her salad and getting a container for Seth’s half eaten burger, Gia stood up and walked out of Kelly’s. As Gia was walking trough the courtyard in front of Kelly’s, someone roughly bumped into her, knocking Seth’s food to the floor. “Hey watch where you’re going!” Gia screamed as she picked up Seth’s now destroyed food. She glance over at the black high-healed foot in front of her, finding it odd that it was still there. She looked up to see an older woman, eloquently dressed standing above her. She glared at her as she stood up. “Do you have a staring problem or are you just slow?” Gia asked, her hand resting on her hip. She shook her head as the woman continued to stare her down and walked over to the trashcan to dispose of the ruined food container and turned back around. “Hey lady, you seriously need to get out of my way or I’ll knock you out.” Gia said standing to her full height confidently. She watched as a smirk appeared on the woman’s cold face. “Well I can see what he would see in you physically.” The woman said looking her up and down. “But underneath you’re beauty lies a real bitch.” Helena said coldly. Gia glared at her. “Who the hell do you think you are?” Gia asked. “Helena, Cassadine. I understand you are living with my grandson Nikolas.” Helena said. Gia was shocked. “Grandson?” She whispered. “Yes Nikolas seems to be quite smitten with you.” Helena said. “Smitten?” Gia laughed. Her heart skipped a beat as Helena stepped closer to her, her face inches from hers. “My point is that you are nothing but a fling to Nikolas, yes he can have all the fun he wants for now but soon, he will wake up and realize that you are nothing but a Brooklyn whore and he’ll leave you. He will move on and become prince and you..well you won’t even be there to see it.” Helena said. “You’re wrong.” Gia stated looking Helena in the eyes. “Well either way you will not get in the way of his future.” Helena said. “Are you trying to threaten me? Because it’s not working.” Gia said rolling her eyes. “No threat, simply stating the fact. You will not be a part of my grandson’s life much longer.” Helena said, her cold tone sent shivers down Gia’s spine, but she did not let this on to Helena and merely laughed. “What ever old lady, you don’t scare me.” Gia said walking past her.

Gia came walking into the cottage to find Nikolas sitting on the couch with a book; he looked up and smiled at her when she came in. “Hey Sparky.” Nik said as Gia walked up and sat on the arm of the couch next to him. “Hi.” Gia said softly as she kept her gaze off of him. “What’s wrong Gia?” Nik asked reaching for her hand and holding it within his. “Am I just a fling to you? Just some new toy that you’ll get bored with?” She asked softly. “Gia no, why would you think that?” Nik asked. “Because that’s what Helena thinks.” She mumbled. Nik dropped her hand. “What?” He breathed. “Yeah Nikolas in the future if you’re going to tell people about my living here, you might want to run it by me first.” Gia said. “Gia, you talked to my grandmother?” Nik asked as he stood up. Gia nodded her head yes. “Listen to me Gia, you need to stay away from that woman, please.” Nik said taking her hands in his. “It was nothing really, she was trying to threaten me but I let her know that it didn’t work.” Gia said smiling. Nikolas shook his head. “God Gia, you don’t understand what that woman is capable of!  Promise me you will stay away from her.” Nik said. Gia nodded her head and glanced to the floor. “So what she said wasn’t true?” Gia asked softly. Nikolas cupped her face in his hands and looked into her eyes. “You are not just a fling Gia, you are so much more. I love you and I won’t let anyone hurt you. Do you believe that?” He asked. Gia nodded her head as she looked into his eyes. “Good.” Nik whispered as he leaned in and kissed her, slowly and passionately. They slowly pulled out of the kiss but stayed wrapped in each other’s arms. Nikolas had one thing on his mind as he held Gia in his arms. He would keep her safe, and he was going to have to pay Helena a visit.
