Ch 3

Gia sat up in bed, wrapping the sheet around her nude chest. She reached out and traced the lines of his muscles, so well defined, so perfect. His eyes fluttered open. She looked into them, so blue, so clear. He smiled at her and it took her breath away. “I don’t want to go.” Gia whispered. “Gia, this is going to be good for you. We talked about this. It’s what’s best for your career.” He said running his hand up her shoulder. “Why can’t you come with me Derek?” Gia asked looking down. “I can’t, you know that. Forman Enterprises needs me Gia. It’s my company. I can’t leave it, or my friends, my life. Not even for you.” He said running his hand along her cheek now. Gia sighed. “You said you’d visit, when can you come out?” She asked. Derek looked away. “In a month, I can come out there in a month.” Derek said. Gia pulled away from his touch. “A month? Derek you said you would visit me all the time!” Gia cried. “Don’t get upset Gia, you know my life is busy. I can’t just drop everything for you. Come on, why are you being like this? You’re always so confident.” Derek said with a slightly disgusted look on his face. Gia stood up. “You’re right, I don’t know why I’m acting like this. It’s just a big move for me that’s all.” Gia said. “But you’re Gia Campbell.” He said smirking. “The one and only.” Gia said smiling. “Come here Gia.” Derek said opening his arms to her. Gia smiled and walked over to the bed, sitting in front of Derek, still completely nude. “Maybe I can work it out so that I can come out a little sooner, OK? I’ll try.” He said kissing her shoulder. Gia smiled. “OK.” She said softy. “So what’s the name of this town again?” Derek asked. Gia laughed. “Port Charles. Sounds thrilling, doesn’t it?” Gia said rolling her eyes. “Oh yeah, can’t wait to visit. So you leave in, two hours huh?” Derek asked looking at the clock. Gia sighed. “Yep.” She said softy. “I have to go Gia. I have a meeting to go to.” Derek said. Gia tried not to show her disappointment as she nodded her head. “Gia, come on, don’t give me that look.” Derek said. “What look? I’m not giving you a look Derek. You need to go, fine go.” Gia said getting up. “Gia stop being like this. Do you really want to spend our last hour together fighting?” Derek asked. Gia shook her head no. “I love you.” Gia said softly, for the first time to him. Derek smiled. “You’re so beautiful Gia.” Derek said, leaning in and kissing her passionately.

Gia sat on the plane heading to Port Charles and nervously played with her fingers as she let out a long breath. She had never felt like this before. Nervous, was just something that Gia Campbell did not get; it was part of what she loved about modeling. Meeting new people and traveling to different places were some of the many perks of the career. She’d been all over the world so why would she feel nervous about coming to some little town like Port Charles? She wondered if maybe her anxiety had anything to do with the way she left things with Derek. She had told him she loved him and he said she was beautiful. It wasn’t quite the response she was hoping for. It made her think that that was all he saw her as, a girl with a beautiful face. She sighed for what felt like the millionth time that day. That wasn’t it. She didn’t know what it was but something about coming to this town made her nervous. To relieve some tension, she shook out the fingers she had been twisting and looked out the window as they were landing. “Here goes nothing.” She said to herself.

Gia was use to being the center of attention so when a crowed of photographers and fans came rushing up to greet her at the airport, Gia smiled at all of them a greeted them right back. “Gia Campbell, I’m Laura Spencer. I’m the owner of Deception and you’ll be working for me. It’s nice to finally meet you in person. I must say that your pictures do not do you justice, you’re a very beautiful woman and you are with out a doubt the perfect Face Of Deception.” Laura said extending her hand to Gia. Gia smiled graciously. “Thank you so much Laura. It’s nice to meet you two, and I must say you are a very beautiful woman yourself.” She said smoothly. “And who is this?” Gia asked, noting the blond guy next to her. She thought he was kind of cute but he wouldn’t stop staring at her and he had a goofy grin on his face, making her a little uncomfortable. “This is my son Lucky Spencer. He will be your photographer.” Laura said placing her hand on Lucky’s back. “Nice to meet you Lucky.” Gia said smiling as she stuck her hand out to him. Lucky blushed and shook her hand, flashing her a nervous smile. “OK I guess you’re not a talker.” Gia said sarcastically. She moved passed him and began to shake hands with various fans that were screaming her name. She felt like the whole town was there to greet her. “Do you think you can just say a few words before you go off to the Port Charles Hotel?” Laura asked. Gia nodded her head and walked over to the group of people gathered around. “Hello everyone. My name is Gia Campbell as I’m sure you all know. I just wanted to say how honored I am to be asked to be the new Face Of Deception and I intend to blow everyone away with my ability’s as a model. I would like to thank Laura Spencer for hiring me and I can’t wait to work with her. Now, I’m sorry to cut this so short but I do need my beauty rest. So thank you all for greeting me, and you’ll be seeing me in Deception ads real soon. Have a wonderful evening everyone.” Gia said to the group and then fallowed Lucky and Laura to the limo that was waiting out front for them. “Thank you Gia that was perfect. Well I feel awful about this but I have so much work to do before you start working tomorrow so I’m going to have to be dropped off at the office. But Lucky here can show you to your hotel and then maybe tomorrow he’ll show you around town.” Laura said. “Great.” Gia said, hoping she sounded polite. She was silent as Laura got out at Deception and was trying hard to avoid talking to Lucky as she sat across from him in the limo, her arms crossed in front of her. Lucky looked over at Gia. He knew he was being a dork but he was becoming aware that Gia didn’t seem to like him. These thoughts were proven when she finally spoke. “Look I get a lot of stares from men but this is getting ridiculous. Is it going to be like this when you’re taking my pictures too? If so, I might just have to ask for a new photographer to work with because I’m not going to work with some pervert.” Gia said, her voice seeping with attitude. “Whoa, are you always this forward? You seem to have a lot of attitude.” Lucky said. “Ah he speaks, and yes I am, it’s part of my charm.” Gia said flashing him a fake smile. “Oh well then I think it’s going to be so much fun working with you.” Lucky said rolling his eyes. “Oh who’s the one with the attitude now?” Gia challenged. Lucky sighed. “OK, I have to admit I’m a little bit nervous meeting you. It’s just that you’re very famous and I’m going to photograph you, it’s a lot of pressure!” Lucky exclaimed. Gia looked away briefly before bringing her eyes back up to his. “I understand. But it would make this whole thing a lot easer if you would just talk to me instead of staring at me like a freak.” Gia said looking into his eyes. Lucky broke into a smile, knowing that she just dissed him but feeling weak under her stare. His heart fluttered when she smiled back at him. This was going to be hard.

Lucky knocked on the door to his brother’s office taking a chance that he would be working late and plopped himself down on the chair across from his desk when he was invited in. Nikolas looked at his brother’s face. “I take it you met this Gia woman?” Nik asked with a smirk. “Mm hmm.” Lucky sighed. Nik’s brother’s behavior was beginning to get him excited to meet this woman himself. “Oh god, you weren’t like this the whole time were you?” Nik asked. Lucky blushed. “Worse. I couldn’t stop staring at her. I couldn’t even talk Nikolas.” Lucky replied. “Lucky, you have a girlfriend! Just because she’s visiting her parent's right now doesn’t mean she doesn’t exist.” Nik warned. Lucky smiled. “Look, I know that. I’m in love with Elizabeth. But Gia, she’s just so captivating, she’s got so much attitude too. It’s just a crush that’s all.” Lucky said. Nik nodded his head. “Yeah well it better stay that way because I don’t want Liz to be hurt.” Nik said. “Don’t worry bro. It’s you I’m worried about. I think you’re going to fall head over heels for this girl.” Lucky said. Nik laughed. “Right. Well I’ll be sure to practice my marriage proposal in the mirror before I meet her then.” Nik said rolling his eyes. “You just wait Nikolas. Tomorrow when you go to see mom at Deception, you’re going to meet Gia and I can’t wait to see the look on your face.” Lucky said getting up and going to the door. “You’re delusional Lucky!” Nik yelled as his brother walked out. He sat back in his chair. His heart was pounding as he thought about tomorrow. He wondered if there was any way in the world that this could be his Gia. He shook his head, deciding that there was just no way it was her, it must be someone else with the same name.
