CH 12
Once again Gia was disgusted with herself at the amount of tears she had shed over Nikolas Cassadine. She had fallen asleep early and so now she was up early the next morning. She had already cleaned up the glass from the night before and taken a shower, she popped a diet pill in her mouth and drank it down with a glass of water, and then sat down on her couch. She was finding it difficult to get her mind off of the previous night when she was by herself like this. She thought that she would pick up a TV later. Derek had never wanted a TV in the house, he said it was for people who liked to sit around and do nothing. But now that she was living by herself, the idea of having something mind-numbing to do to ease some of her tension sounded appealing to her. Sighing, she stood up and grabbed her purse, not really sure where she was going but wanting to get out. She figured that it wouldn’t hurt to go to work early so maybe she would do that.
Coming down the hall, Gia could hear the sound of rather loud shouting coming from one of the rooms. She made a face as she neared it but kept walking, her mind still slightly distracted like it had been all morning. “I want that shipment out today!” Sonny shouted. He didn’t notice Gia and the two collided, Sonny tripped over her foot. “Ow!” Gia cried. “Oh my god I’m so sorry.” Sonny said, touching her arm with concern. Gia waved him off. “No it’s OK I just cut myself last night, I didn’t notice how much it hurt intil this morning.” Gia said, winching slightly. “Are you alright?” He asked. “Yeah I’m fine.” Gia smiled weakly. “I don’t believe we’ve met, my name is Sonny Corinthos.” He said sticking his hand out to her. “Gia Campbell.” She said as she shook it. “The model?” He asked. Gia smirked. “That would be the one.” She said. “I’m the owner of the building, it’s nice to meet you.” He said. “Likewise, so are you always this loud in the morning?” Gia asked. Sonny grinned, he was a married man but the male in him was enjoying her presence, he thought she was incredibly beautiful. “We should get together for dinner sometime. Do you like to cook?” He asked. “I can cook, I just don’t always have the time.” Gia said. “Oh well I love to cook, you’ll have to join my wife and I for dinner, my son Michael will talk your ear off all night I’m sure.” Sonny said. “I would love to. I get pretty bored over there by myself.” Gia said. “You live alone?” Sonny asked, finding it hard to believe. “Oh well my boyfriend didn’t move here with me. He stayed in the city. He owns his own company. He’s going to come out and visit in a couple of months though.” Gia said. “Oh I see well if you ever feel the need for company, come on over. Oh and this building is very safe so don’t worry about your safety, there is a lot of security here.” Sonny said. “Well that’s good.” Gia smiled. Sonny smiled back at her. “Well I’ll see you around Gia, it was nice to meet you.” Sonny said turning to leave. “Nice to meet you too Sonny, I’ll take you up on that offer for dinner sometime I promise.” She said. “Good.” Sonny said as he left.
“What did you want Lucky?” Nik walked up to him at Deception. “I wanted to make sure that everything was alright after your fight with Gia last night.” Lucky said. “Lucky you called me at work, I left a meeting early to talk to you because you said it was important. This is what you wanted to talk about, Gia?” Nik said. “Well I know that it must have been hard, she was pretty harsh.” Lucky said. “I’m a grown man Lucky she wasn’t too harsh, she just doesn’t want to hear the truth, that’s just Gia.” Nik said. Lucky nodded his head and gazed down at the table in front of him. That’s when Nikolas noticed the sheets of black and white photos on the table in front of him. He couldn’t resist, he picked one up and brought it closer to his face. His heart pounded as he looked down at the picture. Gia looked to be naked, her arms were wrapped around her breasts, her face was tilted slightly, her eyes wide and her lips parted slightly. If his brother weren’t there staring at him, he probably would have ran his finger along the image of her. He couldn’t get over how beautiful she had become. She was a pretty little girl when she was younger, but he never imagined that she would grow into the goddess that she was today. “They’re good huh?” Lucky said. Nik cleared his throat. “Yeah.” He said as he put it back down on the table. Lucky was watching him closely, he wanted to help his brother but he didn’t know how. He could tell that he was hurting and longing to be with Gia, he could tell by the look in his eyes when just looking at a picture of her. “Do you want me to talk to Gia when she comes in to work today?” Lucky asked. “About what?” Nik’s head shot up. “Well to try to convince her not to be mad at you.” He said. Nik shook his head. “No! Lucky why would you even think that I would want you to do that?” Nik asked. “I can tell that you like her Nikolas, she’s just being stubborn right now but I think she likes you too.” Lucky said. Nikolas shook his head. “I don’t want to be with her Lucky, she has a lot of issues that I just don’t have the time and patience to deal with. Even if she wanted to be with me, which I know she doesn’t, I wouldn’t want to be with her. She’s messed up.” Nik said. “Thanks Nik.” Gia mumbled as she walked passed him. Nik’s heart pounded as he spotted her passing him. “I have to go.” He said softly to Lucky. He glanced at Gia one more time before leaving, she didn’t seem to care about what he just said, she was busy putting her things down, but her bitter tone made him think otherwise. He couldn’t help but feel sorry for what he said. He walked out with his chest feeling heavy.
