| FATIH AKYEL - Turkey, Soccer Ah, Fatih. Maybe it's the dimples, maybe it's the fact that he played on the Spanish soccer team before joining his countrymen for third place in this year's World Cup. But there is something about this young lad who has risen to stardum by achieving record marks at the tender age of 25. The Turkish team by far has the best fieldside manners of any other team. They subsequently have some of the best-looking players. (coincidence???) |

| TARKAN - Turkey This is Tarkan, Turkey's most famous pop artist. His song "simarik" or what people refer to as the "Kiss, Kiss" song is known the world 'round. For some reason he is especially popular in Latin American countries. Perhaps because Turkish sort of sounds like Spanish. Sort of. After his American self-titled debut, he has since come out with the bumpin' electronica album "Karma" last year. His official fan site has songs, video clips, and photos. He also recently composed a song for the Turkish soccer team during World Cup 2002. |

| CHEB MAMI - Algeria Cheb Mami is the Arabic voice associated with Sting's "Desert Rose." He is a rock legend in his own right in the European and Arabic world but his music is fast spreading beyond those barriers. Sopposedly Brad Pitt's a fan, not that that makes much of a difference to me. Word has it he is working on a follow-up to his fantastic American releases "Meli Meli" and "Dellali" which both, I might add, rock the Casbah. |

| I personally like him with the long hair, how 'bout you? I actually don't know much about Oded, other than he was born in Tel Aviv but sopposedly his parents are European (?) I do know that he is freakin' tall and super nice. How do I know? I met him at the premiere of "Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigalo". Look for him in the new TV show "Presidio Med." |
