"Uneasy Homecoming"
by Will F. Jenkins

Starting off your essay…………..

  • Introduce the short story.
  • Mention  the author's name
  • Give a very short  account of the main points of the story.

Now think about the setting.

  • Think about the area where Connie lives.
  • Think about the time the story took place and the time it lasts.
  • Find quotations to back up what you say.

How does the author create suspense?
Connie gradually finds clues that someone has been using the house.
She realises that she was right to be uneasy.  Will F Jenkins does this in a special way.

Looking at the Main Characters
Think about  Connie's character. What kind of person is she?
ALWAYS BACK UP YOUR  OPINION.

Think about Charles. It is no surprise that he is the robber.
What hints does Will F Jenkins give us about this?

Finish off your essay!
