Dance, Dance, Dance!

Dancing is my first love.  It's what I do when I'm having a bad day and it makes me feel so much better.  I forget all my worries and really put myself into the music.  Actually I don't only dance when I have a bad day.  I dance five days of the week!  I take ballet with pointe along with jazz and modern classes once a week.  Also, I am part of the Pine Lake Ballet Ensemble which rehearses several times a week.  It is made up of dancers chosen from the advanced ballet class.  We have about five performances a year including the annual recital.  These performances are all listed below.  I don't know yet if I plan to continue dancing in college.  It would be nice, but right now I am planning on going to Willamette University in Salem, Oregon and they don't have a dance program.  So we'll see what happens next year!

A fun collaboration of the Pine Lake Ballet Ensemble, Junior ensemble, and Island Youth Ballet from Mercer Island, WA.  From the plateau, take 228th past Skyline, Eastlake HS is at the bottom of the hill on the right.

Pine Lake Ballet Recital
Issaquah, WA Issaquah HS
Wed., June 12th
This is where all the ballet students have the opportunity to show off their improvement from throughout the year.  The show starts with solos by the graduating senior class.  This is followed by the Ensemble performance.  Then all the ballet classes perform as part of a narrated story.  This show is mainly for parents, but it is a fundraiser for the Evergreen Philharmonic and tickets are cheap ($3), so you should really consider it, especially if its your only chance to see the ensemble.  This is the performance that I recommend to all my friends who are as broke as me.
