Series/Sequel: Sequel to Starting for Home
Pariring: Greg Maddux/Tom Glavine
Summary: A moderately humorous fic on a plane.
Setting: Post 2 game Cincinnati sweep. The first game was won by Glavine, the
second by Burkett. The team is returning to Atlanta to face Montreal and
then Cincinnati again.
"You know what we've never done?"
"What? Do I want to know?"
"We've never joined the mile-high club."
"There's an excellent reason for that.
Glavine did his best to look confused, brushing his hand innocently across
Maddux's leg. "What's that?"
"Pretty much all our time flying is spent here on the team plane. You know,
with the other players. The ones who don't know we're, uh,"
"Fucking?" Glavine supplied with a grin.
"Yeah. That." He looked decidedly uncomfortable.
"In case you weren't aware, some do." He glanced over at the seat across the
aisle, occupied by John Burkett.
"I know that, Tom. But no one else needs to. And having sex in the restroom of
the team airplane is a good way for people to find out."
"Who said anything about the restroom?"
"Oh, for Christ's sake, Tommy-"
"Could you two keep it down over there? This is a conversation I'd like not to
be visualizing while I'm trying to sleep." Burkett was staring at them
from across the aisle.
"Sorry," Maddux replied, lowering his voice. Burkett sighed heavily and closed
his eyes again.
"Anyway," Glavine continued albeit more quietly. "No one is paying the least
bit of attention to us."
"Tommy-"
"Sh." His hand crept again to the seat next to him. Maddux pinned the hand
against his thigh.
"Will you stop that?"
"No. I won't actually. Your family won't be back until in the morning and I
fully intend to do whatever I please with you in the meantime."
Maddux groaned and relented. "Ok. Ok. You can come home with me provided you
don't-" He gasped and bit his lip to keep from making any other noises as
Glavine's hand escaped its prison and continued toward its original
destination. "-don't do that anymore on the goddamn plane!"
"Ok, ok, fine," Glavine returned, squeezing again for good measure and
retreating.
Maddux squirmed uncomfortably, glaring. "That was unnecessary. I'm so going to
kill you."
"I certainly hope so," Glavine grinned in return. From across the aisle, John
Burkett opened an eye again.
"Now that that's all settled," he said mildly, "will you two please SHUT THE
HELL UP?"
"Oh. Right. Of course."
"It's about time," muttered the voice form the chair in front of theirs,
easily identified as Chipper Jones.
Glavine leaned over to whisper, "They're just jealous," and looking back into
his lover's eyes, Maddux couldn't help but laugh.
