Since I am currently quite happy in my job there seems no point in having my CV on here! I will put it back on here if I start looking for a new job!

National Financial Management Trainee (NFMTS)
The NHS graduate finance training scheme. I completed placements in management accounts, financial accounts (including charitable and capital accounts), debtors, creditors and payroll. Each placement required the fulfilling of prescribed competences (both practical and theoretical) as well as gaining the experience required for professional qualification. I have a record of work undertaken in each department. During this time I chose to study for the CIMA qualification. One of the things I enjoyed most was working with Excel. (See Additional Information for further details.)
I am a Christian and I try to put my faith into practice in all that I do. At Church I play the drums and guitar in the band, aswell as taking my turn in leading. We meet once a week to practice, rehearse and learn new songs. I also attend a fortnightly housegroup.
While I was an NFMTS trainee I had substantive placements in management accounts and financial accounts.
I had co-responsibility for about twenty budgets totalling 2m in management accounts. I worked with budget managers to answer queries and explain their statements. I was also the link between the R&D Director and the finance department. This entailed providing staff costings and submitting grant applications under the direction of the Deputy Director of Finance, as well as regular meetings. I also carried out ad-hoc work as required, including an analysis of the Trust's income as the groundwork to finalising the Trust's income budgets for the year.
In financial accounts I had responsibility for a number of the balance sheet accounts and control accounts, e.g. petty cash, lease cars, accommodation, patient's cash and payroll deductions. I also looked after all the accruals and prepayments. I had to do a number of month-end reconciliations and journals.
In debtors and creditors I was an additional member of the team carrying out all tasks and assisting the managers with some of their work. The payroll and capital accounts placements were mostly observatory roles.
During all these placements I used two large general ledger packages, Walker's Aptos and McKewan's Integra. One was Windows based and the other was DOS based, however they were both large scale packages.
At Spirit Group my primary role was to create and enter month-end and year-end journals, particularly to help clear the backlog. My secondary role was investigating profit and loss queries from business managers. This meant interrogating the financial system and often chasing paperwork to resolve questions as to why certain charges had hit profit and loss accounts.
I am an experienced computer user and know Word, Excel and PowerPoint well, as well as e-mail and the Internet. I completed an in-house NHS advanced Excel course and can work to macro level.
As a bus driver, as well as my own shifts, I work as a member of the wider team, filling in and covering where needed. Time-management is a key skill in bus driving as is dealing with and communicating well to passengers, other drivers and managers particularly when time is limited. I am one of seven 'leader drivers', this means having a newly passed starter for 2 weeks and buddying them until they are ready to drive in service by themselves. I am also the 'rota representative' for my rota, this entails being the link between the drivers on my rota and the senior managers.
