Rant and Rave: Virtual Pets When you are online, are you bored out of your skull? Do you mindlessly wander around cyberspace, lost and confused about where to go or what to do? Maybe you could use a little excitement in your life... how about adopting a cyberpet?!? They don't cost a cent to take care of (usually), and they can never actually "die"... plus there is no real emotional attatchment cause, well, they don't really exist! If you get into the game, you can almost think of it as a Pokemon videogame :-) What fun! Here are some of my favorite vitual pet webpages. | The Pokemon Crater My SN: Kitsune_Keahi This is a very cool vp page. It follows the idea of the anime tv (and manga) series Pokemon in which you "try to catch them all." Walk around their lands, find pokemon to add to your small army, and then have your pokemon fight other pokemon in order to raise in level and get better abilities. Also, you'll get some virtual currency that you can use to buy more pokeballs to catch more pokemon! Also, pets don't need any food or affection at all! Even though I can't stand the tv show, this webpage is a lot of fun! Be sure to join up! |

| NutrinoPets My SN: Crimson_Clover84 This site has recently been re-vamped, and now it seems more professional However, they decided to get rid of the games because too many people were cheating. Now, to get money, you have to fight in the arena, which isn't the easier thing to do (especially if you have 15 hp and you come across a Huge Dustie... ouch). Just like any other vp page, you have to feed them and play with them, but they won't die if you don't. The pets are very attractive, so if you like vp sites, this one is a great site to look into! |

| Power Pets My SN: Glitter_Bug84 This site has increased to become almost as good as Neopets. The pets are more realistic looking than usual, but they are all very attractive. It's the typical "take care of your pet" site, so you have to feed them and play with them. You can go on a lot of quests, and you can try to get a mini egg. Hatching it will give you a mini, which in turn can assist your own pets in battle. Sounds like a usefull little creature... If you like vp sites, and if neopets is too bland for you, this site is a great site to sign up to! |

Neopets My SN: Fluffer_Nutter84 Ah, good ol' neopets... the master of virtual pet sites. Originally made for "bored college students", this site has become loved by people of all ages! This site is, obviously, the best vp site out there. Although there are a lot of vp sites that come and go, this site, I think, will always be growing and continuing to prosper. Anyways, this site has very attractive pets, and tons of awesome games to play. You can explore Neopia (the world that your pet(s) live in) and see all of the awesome things that you can do. You can have your pets fight against other opponents, or you can go on quests for virtual money and items. You can enter art contests and writing contests... you can have your pet become the smartest pet in neopia, or you can just play games all day! There's so much to do, and it's hard to get bored on this site.... but, in case you do, be sure to check out some of my other vp sites for good alternatives ;-) |
| AfterMath Zone My SN: MochaGirl84 This site is also very similar, but it has one several unique aspects... you can use certain orbs to change your pet and give them elemental powers! Fire, Ice, Earth, you name it... imagine the destruction you could do in a battle arena :-D Also, there are some good quests and games to play... oh yeah, and don't forget to feed and play with your pets! Most of the pets are attractive, and some of them have the most AWESOME elemental alter-ego's! I recommend this site to anyone who might be interested in being a part of multiple vp sites! |

| Monopets My SN: Star_Fox84 Monopets is a site that's still in the works. Some aspects of the site are very frustrating ("why the hell won't this damn link work!?!"), but for the most part, it is a very appealing site. The pets are attractive, and it looks pretty promising. Let's just hope it gets better... |

| TPPC - The Ultimate Online Pokemon Experience My ID #: 195875 This webpage came after the Pokemon Crater, but it seems to run a lot smoother, Not as many weird pop-ups or errors. It's a bit more complex than the Pokemon Crater. There are more places to explore, and you can buy/sell pokemon with other users. It's not a site I'm as active on as I should be. |
