VERLINDE, Maurice (Morey)

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away at his home on
November 16, 1997 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born May 30, 1920 in Duluth, MN,
moved to the Dimondale area at the age of one month, where he spent the remainder of his life. A
graduate of Dimondale High School, he worked for his father on the farm for several years, then
was employed at Standard Block and Supply for 35 years, retiring in 1980. Mr. Verlinde was a self-
employed carpenter and woodworker until his illness. He was a Dimondale Village Trustee for 40
years and a member of Chief Okemos Sportsman Club. Mr. Verlinde was preceded in death by his
parents, Steve and Maria VERLINDE; brother Albert VERLINDE and sister, Elsie DeLAERE. Surviving
are his loving wife of 57 years. Jean, one daughter, Joan (Morris) MARSH, one son, Robert (Saundra)
VERLINDE, four grandchildren, Scot (Nancy) MARSH, Tammy (Scott) LaMACCHIA, Suzanne (Jason) HOWELL,
John (Mary) VERLINDE, and five great grandchildren, all of Dimondale; one brother, Leo VERLINDE of
Gun Lake and one sister-in-law, Elizabeth VERLINDE of Lansing. Services 11 a.m. Tuesday,
November 18, 1997 at Field & Leik Funeral Home, Dimondale, with Rev. John A. Toth officiating.
Interment in Dimondale Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday.
