Eaton drain chief dies
Charlotte - Ron SWAN, Eaton County Drain Commissioner, died morning in a Lansing hospital.
Swan, 64, had been ill several weeks with a heart ailment and had been hospitalized
for the past three weeks.
HE WAS serving his fifth year as county drain commissioner and was the
president of Michigan Association of Drain commissioners.
Prior to his election as drain head Swan served on the County Board of Commissioners
and both the Tri-County and Windsor Township planning commissions.
Surviving are his wife, Jeannette; two daughters, Mrs. Charles HOLIDAY and Cindy
SWAN, both of Eaton Rapids, and his stepmother, Mrs. Daisy SWAN of Traverse City.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Pray Funeral Home.

Mr. Swan, age 64, died early Thursday morning, March 24, 1977 at Ingham Medical Hospital where he had been a patient for
the past 3 weeks. Mr. Swan was the Eaton County Drain Commissioner. He was also the president of the Michigan State
Association of County Drain Commissioners and a member of the Eaton Rapids I.O.O.F. #114 and the Charlotte Kiwanas Club.
Mr. SWAN had also owned and operated a rural milk hauling route for over 40 years. He is survived by his wife, Jeannette;
2 daughters, Mrs. Charles (Myrtle) HOLLIDAY of Eaton Rapids and Cindy who is attending Western Michigan University; step-
mother, Daisy SWAN of Traverse City. Funeral services will be held for Mr. Swan Sat. afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Pray Funeral
Home in Charlotte with interment in the Dimondale Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home Thrus. evening from 7 to
9 and Friday from 2:30 to 4:30 and 7 to 9 p.m. Contributions may be made to the Heart Fund or to the Easter Seals in memory
of Mr. Swan and envelopes are available at the funeral home.
