Age 97, died March 26, 1976 at a local hospital. Born Nov. 6, 1878 in Meridian Township. She was a member of the
First Church of Christ, Lakeland, Fla. Surviving are 2 daughters, Mrs. Robert (Ethel) LESLIE of Battle Creek, Mrs. Liege
(Louise) SIMMS of Spring Hill, Fla.; a son, Harold A. SMITH of Mason; 12 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren and a
number of great-great-grandchildren. She was married Nov. 6, 1896 to Alvin G. SMITH who died in 1954. Friends may call
from 3-5 p.m. Sunday and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Ball-Dunn chapel, Gorsline-Runciman Co., Mason. Complete arrangements will
be announced later.

Pearl E. SMITH
Mrs. Pearl E. Smith of 1261 Harper road, Mason, died on Friday, March 26, in East Lansing. She was 97.
She was born Novemeber 6, 1878, in Meridian Township.
Mrs. Smith was a member of the First Church of Christ, Lakeland, Florida. She married Alvin G. SMITH on
November 6, 1896. He preceded her death in 1954.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Ethel) LESLIE of Battle Creek, Mrs. Liege (Louise) SIMMS of
Spring Hill, Florida; one son, Harold A. SMITH of Mason; 12 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren and a number of great-
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Smith were held on Tuesday at the Ball-Dunn Chapel, Gorsline Runciman Company,
Mason, with the Rev. Keith L. Hayes, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Mason, officiating.
