Age 63, died June 15, 1984 in Lansing. Born May 27, 1921 in Lansing. Mr. Porter was a lifelong resident of Lansing.
He was employed with the State of Michigan for 33 years, most recently as a Superintendent with the Dept. of Social
Services at the William J. Maxey Training School. He was a veteran of W.W. II serving in the U.S. Army. He was a
member of the Morley S. Oates Post #701 V.F.W. He was a member of the Lansing Aerie #1039 F.O.E. He was also Vice President
of the Old Timers Baseball Association. He is survived by his wife, Emma Lou; 1 daughter, Mrs. Bruce (Patricia) PORTER
HERMAN of Marshall; 2 grandchildren, Gabrielle and Aaron; his father, JT PORTER of East Lansing; 1 sister, Mrs. Ron
(Beatrice W.) REED also of East Lansing. Funeral services for Mr. PORTER will be Mon. 11:30 a.m. at the Gorsline-Runciman
Lansing Chapel with the Rev. Willard W. Farrier, Pastor of South Riley Bible Church officiating. Interment will be in
Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Sun. 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Those desiring
may make contributions to the American Heart Associations in memory of Mr. Porter.
