LEWIS, Hazel, R. (HEINZE)
Potterville
Age 85, died September 22, 1993 in Lansing. Mrs. Lewis was born in Lansing, the
daughter of George and Cora (CARL) THOMAS. They later moved to the farm a half mile south of
Potterville, and she has been a lifelong resident of the Potterville area. She was retired from
the State of Michigan Treasury Department after 28 years of service, and was a member of the
Potterville United Methodist Church. She is survived by her son, George (Carole) HEINZE of Lake
Odessa; 4 grandchildren, Tom (Kathy) HEINZE of Lakeview, Garry HEIZE of Moab, UT, Greg HEINZE of
Albion, and Brad HEINZE of Charlotte; 4 great-grandchildren, Bret and Stephanie HEINZE of
Lakeview, and Leah and Maria HEINZE of Charlotte. She was preceded in death by her first husband
of 50 years, Dewey HEINZE; second husband, Russell LEWIS, whom she married in 1978; 2 half-
sisters, Edna HUELS and Grace BAUGHMAN. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 25 at
11 a.m. at the Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte, with the Rev. John Bunker officiating. Interment
will be in the Benton Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
