Former Dimondale Woman, 74, Dies
Lengthy Illness if Fatal to Mrs. Hulda JACHALKE

  Mrs. Hulda W. Jachalke, 74, formerly of Dimondale, died early Thursday morning at a Lansing hospital, following an illness of several months. She was born May 24, 1878, in Germany, and moved to this country as a child. She had lived most of her life in Dimondale, where she was a member of the Presbyterian church.
  Survivors are four sons, Carl and Harold of Lansing, Clarence of Ann Arbor, and Herman of Dimondale; two brothers, Edward and William MEESE of Lansing, a sister, Mrs. Frieda WENDT of Lansing, and six grandchildren. Edward MEESE is a traffic representative of the Lansing bureau of the The Associated Press which is located in The State Journal building.
  The body had been taken to the Field's funeral home in Dimondale to await arrangements.

Hulda W. JACHALKE

  Mrs. Hulda W. Jachalke, 74, of Dimondale, died early Thursday morning at the St. Lawrence Hospital, Lansing, following an illness of several months, spent at the Cedar Rest Convalescent Home.
  She had spent the most of her life in the vicinity of Dimondale.
  She was born in Germany, May 24, 1878 and moved to this country as a child.
  In 1898 she was united in marriage to Herman A. JACHALKE, who preceded her in death, November 5, 1948. To this union were born six sons, John William and Carl, of Lansing, Herman of Dimondale, Clarence, of Ann Arbor and Harold, of Lansing. John and William having preceded her in death. Other survivors are two brothers, Edward and William MEESE and a sister, Mrs. Frieda WENDT, of Lansing, and eight grandchildren, also a host of friends.
  She was a faithful member of the Presbyterian church, attending church Sunday School and contributed to the work of the Women's Association.
  Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church, Saturday afternoon, Rev. Paul Hurrell, officiating. Burial in the Dimondale cemetery.
