Age 38, died Oct. 22, 1981. He was born Aug. 7, 1943 in Leslie, MI. Mr. Hawkins was a farmer in the Mason area all
of his life. A member of the Mason Lyons Club. He graduated from Eaton Rapids High School in 1961, attended Western
Michigan University, was an avid hunter and fisherman. Surviving are his wife Lucie; 1 daughter, Cheryl; 1 son, James,
his parents Mr. & Mrs. Sidney O. HAWKINS of Aurelius; brothers & sisters, Dale HAWKINS & Doris VINCENT both of Holt,
Doreen HANES of Lansing, Pauline ROYSTON of Eaton Rapids, Audrey HARTENBURG of Vermontville, David HAWKINS Sr., Sidney
HAWKINS Jr., and Mary ELLISON all of Aurelius. Preceded in death by a brother Paul HAWKINS of Aurelius. Also surviving
are Father & Mother-in-law Mr. & Mrs. Albert KEMPER of Cadillac formerly of Eaton Rapids, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Mon. Oct. 26, 1981, 2:20p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Mason with the Rev. Paul
N. Mergener officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Aurelius. The family will receive friends at the Ball Dunn
Chapel, Gorsline Runciman Co., Mason. Sat. 7-9 p.m. and Sun. 2-4 p.m. Friens who desire may make contributions to Mason
Public Schools Athletic Dept. in memory of Mr. Hawkins, envelopes available at the chapel.
