GUENTHER, Burton E.
Lansing
Age 80, passed away September 19, 1997. He was born October 7, 1916 in Lansing and had been
a lifelong resident. He was a member of Emanuel First Evangelical Lutheran Church; and worked
for the state of Michigan for 32 years, 26 with the Boys Training School and 6 with the Dept. of
Transportation in Aeronautics. Surviving are his granddaughter, Lori (Joey) REYES of Chicago, IL;
cousins, Maynard GUENTHER of Lansing and Marilyn GUENTHER of Grand Ledge. He was preceded in
death by his wife, Ruth E. in 1988; and son, Robert in 1978. Religious services will be conducted
by the Revs. Daniel M. Buske and John F. Bogt of Emanuel First Evangelical Lutheran Church at 1
p.m. Tuesday, Septemer 23, 1997 at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, with interment in
Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral Home from 7-9 p.m. on Monday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Burton E. Guenther.
