Age 67, passed away November 18, 1987. She was born in Linden, MI on April 17, 1920. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ; a former Sunday School Teacher; member of the Church Choir; held several chairmanships in the Women's Guild and had served as Church Secretary. She was a past President of Morley S. Oates Post #701 V.F.W. Auxiliary; a former Brownie Leader at Everett Elementary School; a former Campfire Leader at Potterville Elementary School; was active in the Potterville PTO having held several chairmanships; was a member of the Potterville Calico Lioness Club; and was a volunteer for the Eaton County Mobile Meals. Surviving are husband, Morten D.; 2 sons, Gerald and wife, Julie FIELDER of Charlotte; Daniel FIELDER of Dimondale; 3 daughters, Meredith and her husband, Robert KAISER of Abingdon, VA, Bonnie and her husband, Dennis HALBEISEN of Potterville, and Rebecca CAIN of Potterville; 11 grandchildren, Carli FIELDER, Stephanie, Joy and David KAISER, Jessica, Joseph and Jonathan CAIN, Bethany and Douglas HALBEISEN, Jon and Bettsy LOVELAND; brother William E. CARPENTER of Palm City, FL; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by parents, Rev. William S. and Lula CARPENTER; a brother, Robert A.; infant son, Robert and a granddaughter, Heather FIELDER. Religious services will be conducted by the Rev. Roger S. Stutesman at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul United Church of Christ, 319 W. Genesee with interment in the Benton Township Cemetery, Potterville. Pallbearers will be Bill Henry, Carl Smith, K.C. Conarton, Sanford Swanson, Julius Moore, Carl Schlee. Honorary are Ron Weger, Kermit Ohl, Art Kapp, Wendell Dwelley, Bruce Goodrich, Ron Bohnet. The family will receive friends at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday and Friday and Mrs. Fielder will lie-in-state at the Church from 1:30 p.m. until service time on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Childrens Leukemia Fund or the Neurofibrotosis Foundation in care of the family.
