Age 56, died November 2, 1990 at his home. Born in Cincinatti, OH, Les attended schools in Elizabethtown and Louisville, KY, where he was an outstanding basketball player. A Koren War veteran, Les served in the U.S. Navy from 1951-1959. He was most proud of having served with Dr. Thomas Dooley in the "Passage To Freedom." Les had been employed by Booth Newspapers and Oldsmobile. He volunteered his time to Explorer Scouts, Little League Baseball, and the Mens Baseball League. He is survived by his wife, Mary; 2 sons, Michael and wife Deborah of Royal Oak and Steven of Lansing; 1 daughter, Marles and her husband Jack LUDWIG of Scotts; 3 grandchildren, John-Paul, Nicholas and Danielle LUDWIG; special family friend, Colleen CURRY; brother-in-law, George and wife Janie HOWE; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 3:30 p.m. Monday at the Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, with Rev. Arthur Salisbury officiating. Interment in Maple Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday at the Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Lansing, Inc.
