DAHER, Louis Habeeb

Lansing
Age 68, died July 12, 1989 at a local hospital. He was born October 6, 1920 and has been a life-long citizen of Lansing. He operated Daher's Grocery, which was founded by his father in 1917, retiring in 1986. He graduated from Eastern High School in 1941, was a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church, the Ushers Club, worked on many church fund raisers, was a minister of the Eucharist, member of St. Casimir Knights of Columbus Council #9711, member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Bishop Albers Assembly, member of the Disabled American Veterans and served in the U.S. Army from December 1942 to March 1946. He was the son of Habeeb and Mary DAHER, who preceded him in death, also a brother, Joseph, who passed away in 1971. He is survived by 6 sisters, Mrs. Catherine COREY, Miss Egene DAHER, Miss Rose Marie DAHER, Sister Maristella DAHER of Hollidaysburg, PA, Sister Mary Elizabeth DAHER of Altoona, PA; 2 brothers, Thomas A. DAHER of Lansing, John G. and his wife, Judi DAHER of Lansing; 3 nephews, Philip H. DAHER, Mark David RENTSCHLER and David H. RENTSCHLER Jr.; 4 nieces, Rosemary RENTSCHLER of New York; Julianne DAHER, Petra DAHER and Shelly DAHER, all of Lansing. In addition, many aunts and cousins in California, Canada, Maryland, and Lebanon. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Raymond Rademacher, Fr. William Lugger and Fr. Albert Hornberger. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The Knights of Columbus 4th Degree Chalice Service will be Thursday 7:30 p.m. followed by the 3rd Degree Service. The family will receive friends Thursday and Friday, 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Palmer-Bush Lansing Chapel, where the Rosary will be recited Friday at 7:30 p.m. Pallbearers will be Edward Abraham, Nicholas Corey, Philip Daher, Joseph Elias, Jack Sebolt and William Wrobel. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Ushers Club, Bingo Group and Knights from the Knights of Columbus. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to St. Casimir Catholic Church in memory of Louis H. Daher.
