Grand Ledge
Mr. Church, age 71, passed away Feb. 11, 1982 at his residence. He was a Lt. Sr. Grade with the U.S. Navy during World
War II. Mr. Church was Director of Social Services of the Boys Traning School from 1946 until his retirement in 1972.
He was a graduate of Oberlan College in Oberlan, Ohio in 1932 and received his Masters degree in Social Science from Western
Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio. He was a former member of the Grand Ledge Library Board and a former member of the
Grand Ledge and Maple Rapids Lyons Clubs. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Grand Ledge and a
member of the Maple Rapids Masonic Lodge #145 F.&A.M. and the O.E.S. #76 Maple Rapids. Surviving are his wife, Carolyn; 4
daughters, Mrs. Lewis (Annette) JOHN of Lexington, Va., Mrs. Ted (Carolyn) HYLEK of Grand Ledge, Mrs. Carl (Melinda) BABB of
Casper, Wyoming, Mrs. Larry (Katherine) FRISOLI of Boston, Mass.; 5 grandsons; 5 granddaughters; 1 brother, John CHURCH of
Chagrin Falls, Ohio; 3 sisters, Mrs. Ruth NORRIS of Lacey, Wash., Mrs. Esther ROSENOW of Philadelphia, Pa., Mrs. Rachel
KUIVINEN of Chagrin Falls, Ohio. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Annette EVANS. Funeral services will be held
Sun., Feb. 14 at 2 p.m. at the Grand Ledge First United Methodist Church with Rev. Royce R. Robinson officiating. Interment
will be at the Oakwood Cemetery, Grand Ledge. The family suggests those wishing may make contributions to the Grand Ledge
First United Methodist Church Memorial Fund. The envelopes will be available at the Peters & Murray Funeral Home, Grand
Ledge where friends may call until noon Sun.
