Age 67, passed away Saturday, February 9, 1991. Mr. Booker was born in Paris, TX on July 17, 1923. He came to Lansing in 1945 after serving in World War II. He was a member of St. Mary's Parish. He was employed 42 years at Michigan State University. He was loved and respected by many people throughout his life. Surviving are his beloved wife of 34 years, Regina "Bunny" BOOKER; 3 brothers, Lubert and Chauncey, both of Lansing and Philander "Duke" BOOKER of Paris; 1 sister, Zenobia HILL of Denver, CO; 1 son, Abdullah MASOOD of Lansing; 1 step daughter, Kim EDMOND of California; 1 special nephew, Ray PARKER of Detroit; 9 grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and good friends. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 12 Noon at St. Mary Catholic Church, 157 High Street, Williamston, with The Rev. Steven Makranyi, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Gorsline-Runciman Williamston Chapel beginning Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Vigil Service will be held Tuesday, 7:30 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society in memory of Mr. Booker.
