ABEL, Beatrice T. (WOODBURY)
Dimondale
Age 99, died February 8, 1998. Mrs. Abel was born February 23, 1898 in Mt. Pleasant, MI.
She received a teaching certificate from Mt. Pleasant Normal College and taught at Rose School,
Bath, MI. In 1921 she married Hazen P. ABEL, moved to Dimondale in 1931, where she became a
member of Dimondale United Methodist Church and taught Sunday School for several years. Mrs. Abel
was an avid quilter and made many beautiful quilts for her family and friends. She was preceded
in death by her husband, Hazen (1978), and her son, Max (1994). Surviving are her daughter, Lois
(Dale) REYNOLDS of Dimondale; 2 granddaughters, Coleen (Bill) HINES of Bellevue, MI, Karen
(Kenneth) KAISER of North Carolina; and 2 great-granddaughters, Kimberlee and Andrea KAISER;
several nieces and nephews. Services 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 11, 1998, at Field & Leik Funeral
Home, Dimondale, with Rev. Joyce DeToni-Hill officiating. Interment will be in Dimondale
Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
