War Games: Sting, Nikita Koloff, Ricky Steamboat, Dustin Rhodes & Barry Windham vs Rick Rude, Steve Austin, Arn Anderson, Bobby Eaton & Larry Zybiszco (w/Paul E. Dangerously & Madusa) 5/17/92
This was the second or third best War Games match ever. Really strong action, lots of blood and great heat. Windham and Austin started out. Windham dominated the balance of the opening five minute period. Austin was also busted open. The heels won the coin toss and sent Rude into the cage, giving the heels the advantage. Steamboat was the next one in and he went right after Rude. The crowd heat was unreal at this point. The faces were dominating the action in both rings when Arn Anderson entered the cage. Windham was also busted open by this point. Rhodes was the next man in the cage and he attacked every heel in the cage with great intensity. Larry was next in the cage. Madusa climbed to the top of the cage and Sting followed her up to the roof. Madusa then scurried back down the cage. The heels dominated the balance of this two minute period. Windham was thrown into the cage by Anderson. Sting then entered the cage amidst great heat. Sting pressed Rude into the top of the cage and then backdropped Austin into a side of the cage. Sting raked Anderson's face in the side of the cage. Eaton then entered the match, and so all five heels were in the cage. Dustin was a very bloody mess by this point in the match. Windham applied the figure four leglock on Anderson. Koloff then entered the cage, and now all ten men were in the match. Koloff protected Sting from an attack by taking it himself. Koloff and Sting got the better of Austin and Anderson and then embraced. Sting applied the scorpion deathlock on Anderson as Rude unscrewed one of the turnbuckles. Larry went to hit Sting with the turnbuckle bolt but hit Eaton instead. Sting then applied an armbar on Eaton and got the submission win for his team at 23:24. Larry's teammates were furious at him after the match. Super match due to the intensity, blood and crowd heat. ****1/2
