-There was a new and slightly different setup for the titantron and entrance.
-Stephanie McMahon and HHH were shown in the back embracing. Shane McMahon was then shown awaiting Vince McMahon's arrival.
-Chris Jericho came out and said his intercontinental title win at Armageddon restored credibility to the WWF. X-Pac came out and confronted Jericho, saying he was sick of Y2J's bs and challenging him to a title match.
-Match 1 (WWF Intercontinental title): Chris Jericho (champion) vs
X-Pac (challenger)
Chyna and Miss Kitty appeared at the entrance to watch the match. As
Jericho had X-Pac in his Boston crab, Chyna ran in and KOed the referee,
causing Jericho to win by DQ. Good match, cheap ending.
-HHH and Stephanie ran into Shane in the back. An angry Shane chided Stephanie for her actions. HHH asked Shane for a hug and said he had no family spirit- this was really hilarious and well-executed acting.
-After a commercial, Shane was still waiting for Vince to arrive.
-Match 2: Godfather (w/7 ho's) vs Mark Henry
Before Henry appeared, a GTV scene was shown on the titantron. Mark
Henry was in bed talking about this incredible sexual experience, and
then the camera showed Mae Young in bed with him (the Bluewall erupted in
laughter). During the match, Mae Young "ran" down to the ring,
distracted Godfather, and Henry rolled him up and pinned him. Henry then
left with Young.
-Vince McMahon arrived carrying a sledgehammer. Shane tried to calm him down, but Vince was too focused on attacking HHH. They went to DX's door, which Vince beat in with the sledgehammer. Noone was inside the locker room.
-After a commercial, Vince came out with sledgehammer in hand. He called out HHH and called him a rapist. Stephanie instead came out to HHH's music. She confronted Vince and dared him to hit her with the sledgehammer. Stephanie ripped on Vince's "selfishness" and said she was now doing things her way. She said she was turned on by HHH. She then talked about the angle when Vince had her abducted by the Undertaker. Stephanie met HHH at the ramp and HHH kissed her to Vince's dismay. Stephanie is still not a great actress, but she did well in her new role.
-After a commercial, the kiss between HHH and Stephanie was replayed.
-Vince and Shane were in the back and Vince ordered their limo driver to get them out of there because he was so enraged. HHH and Stephanie then decided to take over the "family business" for the night.
-Match 3: The Rock & Mankind vs Dudleys
Rock pointed out Wade Boggs, who was wearing a Rock t-shirt, in the front
row. When Buh Buh Ray tried to say who his team was and stuttered, The
Rock stuttered back. Initially, Rock and Mankind won by DQ when D-Von
brought a chair into the ring. However, HHH and Stephanie came out and
ordered the match to continue since it was a no DQ match. A commercial
aired during the match. After the commercial, Buh Buh Ray bled from a
chairshot. The referee was knocked out, so HHH and Stephanie brought out
a second referee with a Vince McMahon mask. D-Von pinned Mankind.
Afterward, the ref's mask was pulled off revealing Al Snow. The other
referee then counted Rock's pin of Buh Buh Ray.
-HHH and Stephanie were shown backstage, and X-Pac appeared with them.
-Backstage, the Mean Street Posse came to HHH & Stephanie's room and congradulated them. In return, Stephanie ordered them to face the Acolytes.
-Match 4 (WWF Women's title; chocolate pudding death match): Miss
Kitty (champion) vs Tori (challenger)
Kitty asked ring announcer Lillian Garcia to refer to her as "The Cat".
X-Pac came out wearing a wet suit, and the Cat won thanks to X-Pac. Kane
came out and threw X-Pac into the pudding, but the New Age Outlaws came
out and attacked Kane. Garcia announced the winner as Miss Kitty,
causing her to be thrown into the pudding by the Cat.
-After a commercial, the previous incident was replayed.
-Match 5: Mean Street Posse vs Acolytes
This was a pretty lame match as the Acolytes beat the crap out of MSP and
then simply left the ring.
-Bakcstage, the Outlaws came into HHH & Stephanie's room, and HHH announced that there would be a cage match.
-Match 6 (cage match): The Hardys (w/Terri) vs Edge & Christian
Matt Hardy executed a top rope Russian legsweep in one insane move.
Also, Edge dove off the top of the cage onto both Hardys with a corkscrew
bodyblock. In the spot of the night, Jeff Hardy went for a senton off
the top of the cage but hit the mat. Matt and Christian hit the floor at
the same time, so the ref ordered the match to continue. Edge won when
Christian prevented Jeff from reaching the floor. GREAT MATCH!!! This
was probably about ***1/2 in 5 minutes! Best RAW match in ages.
-Kane and Tori were shown backstage.
-HHH told Kane he would be in a triple threat match.
-Match 7 (triple threat match): New Age Outlaws vs Kane
Both Outlaws pinned Kane after a stuff piledriver. This was better than
it could have been.
-HHH & Stephanie backstage decided to have Big Show defend the WWF title against Big Bossman and Prince Albert in a handicap match.
-Match 8 (WWF title): Big Show (champion) vs Big Bossman (challenger)
& Prince Albert
The orange Taz symbol briefly appeared on the titantron. DX were
watching the match backstage. Show pinned Bossman after a chokeslam.
-Backstage, where DX was meeting Stephanie said the New Age Outlaws should defend their tag team title and told them to do so against HHH and Test.
-Match 9 (WWF Tag Team title): New Age Outlaws (champions) vs HHH
(w/Stephanie) & Test (challengers)
Stephanie "rooted for" Test. Late in the match, which was decent, DX
ganged up on Test and Stephanie slapped him. HHH KOed Test with a
chair. DX stood in the ring, and Stephanie over Test as the show ended.
-Overall, a pretty good show, although not one of their best. Two of the matches were really good and better than most RAW fare. The rest of the matches were typical. The booking of matches on the fly gimmick worked well- as long as it does not become a regular occurence to this extent. Appearences by Rikishi, Too Cool, Kurt Angle & The Hollys might have helped the show.
