WELCOME TO MY PRO WRESTLING PAGE!

Just want to welcome everyone to my website, especially if you are a new visitor. This page should be a bit shorter and more practical in tha past, so here goes...

ABOUT ME: I have been a fan of pro wrestling since 1988, and my love for the industry has evolved over the years and undergone several changes, yet has remained just as strong. My first memory of pro wrestling was watching Andre the Giant beat Hacksaw Jim Duggan to a bloody pulp on, I think, WWF Superstars of Wrestling (remember their feud? if not, lucky for you). While I haven't always been a serious critic of wrestling matches (like many of you probably are now), I've always enjoyed and been able to distinguish a great quality match when I see one. For example, I wrote a match review and commentary on the "match that made me a wrestling fan for life", the first 1989 Ricky Steamboat-Ric Flair classic (see The Moss Covered Three Handled Family Credenza section). I first subscribed to the Pro Wrestling Torch in 11/94, and my way of viewing wrestling changed dramatically as that newsletter taught me to look at the product from a much more critical eye. Three years later, the I stopped subscribing to the Torch, in part because of their lack of puroresu and lucha libre coverage, and started subscribing to the Wrestling Observer, the source of much of the information on my TV and PPV data pages. For most of my years as a wrestling fan, I haven't had just one favorite wrestler, but several favorites stand out from my viewership over the years. They include Jushin Liger, Manami Toyota, Vader, Mitsuharu Misawa, Kenta Kobashi, Toshiaki Kawada, Rey Misterio Jr., Masato Tanaka, Jeff Hardy, and Chris Benoit. As you can tell from that list, my main source of entertainment in wrestling is great quality work and matches, although I can always get into a charismatic or comedic character, as well as skits whenever they are entertaining.

ABOUT MY WEBSITE: First off, you probably notice that my website isn't graphics-intensive, especially in terms of pictures. This is for a couple reasons: I'm not very adept at uploading pictures and, it makes the pages on my site load faster, making your browsing experience (hopefully) as painless as possible. You will not find much newsworthy content on my site, in part because I lack the resources to deliver information in a timely, accurate and entertaining form. So, it would be impractical to post, even periodically, current news items from throughout wrestling. There are many sites that can do this and do it well, and they are listed in my links page. So, the main emphasis will be on two bases: information and opinion. In my TV data pages, PPV data page, and Wrestling Observer Hall of Fame section, I have tried to provide information that either may not be available in part or at all on other sites, or which may be presented differently. My main area of emphasis in recent months has been on my opinions on matches, commercial videos and TV episodes. You will find sections reserved for each of those categories on this site. As of 1/15/02, I had over 35 tape reviews, about 35 TV reviews, and 22 compilations/articles of match reviews. In addition, I have a section in which I list the top 100 matches, worldwide, of the entire pro wrestling industry in the 1990s along with reviews of each of those 100 matches. Most of my reviews aren't exactly creative or well-written; that's not my goal here. My goal is to give you, as accurately/clearly as possible, my opinion on the content I review, as well as recommend content that I enjoyed watching. As far as updating the website, I try to do so currently on a daily basis or close to daily. The only set update comes on every Monday, when I post a new Moss Covered Three Handled Family Credenza article.

IN CLOSING: I hope you find my website entertaining and/or informative. If you have any comments, especially suggestions of any kind for this site, please feel free to email me at:
