All Japan Double Tag Team Championship: Mitsuharu Misawa & Kenta Kobashi (champions) vs Toshiaki Kawada & Akira Taue (challengers) 6/9/95

Some people call this the best men's tag team match ever, but their 12/93 classic had a stronger move set with tighter pacing and psychology. That said, the heat for this match was incredible and maybe even stronger than in the aforementioned match. As television footage of this match began, Misawa & Kawada had a fluid exchange of moves. The big spot of the match's first half saw Taue give a nodowa-otoshi to Misawa, who fell directly onto his partner Kobashi's leg. Kawada hooked Misawa in the stretch plum as Kobashi lariated Taue. Kobashi and Kawada had a hot exchange of chops and kicks. Kobashi and then Misawa dominated the match as the near falls began. Kawada nearly killed Misawa with a backdrop driver at the 30 minute mark. Kobashi several times went for a moonsault on either Kawada or Taue, but would always get cut off by the other opponent. Kobashi finally moonsaulted Kawada at 33:50 for a great near fall. The focus then shifted to Misawa vs Kawada, with Misawa getting a near fall with a tiger driver before Taue made the save. Taue gave Misawa a nodowa off the apron about 37:30 into the match. Kawada gained a near fall on Misawa with his trademark leaping kick. Kawada hit another kick and then a powerbomb on Misawa for the pin at 42:50. Not only was it Kawada's first pin of Misawa, but he and Taue also captured their first Double tag team title. Perhaps the aspect of this match that stood out was the frequent incidents where a wrestler would be in trouble but his partner would intervene. While this is often used as a cheap tactic in the U.S., this tool was used beautifully to add to this match's psychology and drama. *****
