WWF Intercontinental Title/ Ladder Match: Shawn Michaels (champion) vs Razor Ramon (challenger) 8/28/95
This match took place at Summerslam '95, and proved to be another show stealer. Contrary to many other opinions on this match, I thought this was slightly better from a technical standpoint than the first ladder match between these two. While the action was not qiute as hot nor the spots quite as monumental, the psychology and selling were as good as you will ever see in a WWF ring. The first few minutes featured some outstanding wrestling exchanges between the two. The ladder was then brought into the ring. Tone of awesome and "neat" spots, and too many to account for here. One of the highlights saw Michaels moonsault off the ladder onto a standing Ramon and then give him a barrage of punches. Michaels attempted a splash off the very top of the ladder, but missed. At one point, both men climbed the ladder, and then as they fought, the ladder tipped and both men fell onto the ropes. In between these ladder spots, some of which were very stiff, both men sold the damage tremendously, almost like you would expect from Misawa or Kawada in All Japan. Late in the match, a second ladder was brought into play by Ramon in a neat twist. Razor hit his Razor's edge at 21:30. The finish was really dramatic as Michaels had the upper hand. He climbed the ladder to get the belt, but since the ladder was a couple feet away, he needed to jump off the ladder to get it. The first time he jumped, Michaels was unable to grab the belt. However, he did on his second attempt to win the match and retain his title at 25:03. In my opinion, the best match in WWF history. *****
