WWWA World Title Cage Match: Bull Nakano (champion) vs Aja Kong 11/14/90
A different match from almost every match in my top 100 list. This one contained by far the fewest great exchanges of wrestling content and "graceful" offense. Much of this match was pure violence, and much of the violence centered around the use of weapons such as a trash can, a steel rod and even scissors. These weapons were not used a props to execute daredevil stunts, and neither woman was capable of such since they both weighed around 220 legit. Instead, they pounded, prodded and even stabbed each other with these weapons, drawing lots of blood in the process. When they weren't using weapons, they usually pounded each other with stiff offense. Kong was hoping to repeat her 9/11 upset of Nakano in what was also a cage match. She ambushed Nakano before the bell, commencing a wild fight around ringside. Besides a suplex from Nakano, there were few wrestling moves in the opening minutes. Kong used a series of urakens to floor Nakano, who was bleeding from the forehead within the first few minutes. Nakano then got the better of Kong for a stretch. She basically obliterated one of Kong's trash cans on Kong's head. In addition, Nakano hit a series of second rope legdrops and a top rope jumping knee. Kong used her other trash can but Nakano stabbed her right arm with scissors, drawing more blood. Fights broke out around the ring with both women's seconds, including Madusa, Bison Kimura, Bat Yoshinaga & Kyoko Inoue. Kong tried to hang Nakano with a thick rope. Nakano then attempted to tie Kong's wrist to the bottom rope so she could leave the cage, but the strategy failed. In a rare display of outside interference in a puroresu match, Kyoko gave Nakano a chain. Nakano tied the chain around Kong's neck and attempted to tie each end of the chain to oposite sides of the cage. Kong freed herself in time to hit Nakano with a steel rod and prevent her from leaving the cage. Kong powerslammed Nakano off the middle rope and went to leave the cage, but Bull cut her off. Kong assaulted Nakano with a ten foot pole. She went to jump off the top rope with the pole, but Kyoko intercepted the pole and Nakano regained control. In the highlight of the match, she gave Kong a legdrop off the top of the cage, which stood about 9 or 10 feet above the canvas. Nakano then climbed out of the cage to win at 20:57. An incredible display of brutality for the time punctuated by the intensity, use of weapons and blood spilled. They mixed in enough wrestling spots and everything they did had meaning within the context of the match. One of the most memorable cage matches ever. ****3/4
