Stevie won an exchange of blows and gave Morton 10 punches. Morton whipped Stevie into the corner and atomic dropped him. Morton telegraphed a backdrop and Stevie powerbombed him for a near fall. Stevie gave Morton a superkick for the pin at 5:24. Fans were into it, but this was pretty underwhelming. Morton was past his prime and never seemed great as a heel anyway. *1/4

2. Steve Williams vs Axl Rotten

Axl pounded Williams early and whipped him into the corner. Axl stomped and choked Williams but Williams kicked him. Axl whipped Williams into the corner and clotheslined him for a near fall. Williams whipped Axl into the corner and gave him an Oklahoma stampede for a near fall. Williams then gave Axl his backdrop driver for the pin at 1:50. Fine while it lasted, it served its purpose of making Williams look strong. NR

Raven then confronted Williams in the ring, and they then started fighting. Williams got the better of Raven as Tod Gordon came out and ordered a title match between them

3. ECW World Title: Raven (c) vs Steve Williams

Raven fought back and rammed Williams into the ringpost. Raven scored with two chairshots, and Williams began to bleed as Raven gave him a third chairshot. Raven rammed Williams into the barricade and went for a second rope elbowsmash but crashed through a ringside table when Williams moved. Williams hit Raven with a chair and threw him onto the remnants of the table on the floor. Williams chopped Raven and they finally returned to the ring. Williams attacked Raven with a ton of punches. Williams gave Raven a top rope shoulderblock for a near fall. Raven caught Williams on the top rope and traded blows with him. Raven gave Williams an impressive superplex given their awkward positioning. The BWO came out, along with Lori and Tyler Fullington to Ravens surprise. Raven confronted Stevie but was tackled by Williams. Williams press slammed Raven clear out of the ring onto the BWO at ringside. Stevie offered Williams his BWO shirt, Williams refused and got Steviekicked. Williams rose up but Stevie gave him a second Steviekick. Williams blocked a third but Stevie gave him a third Steviekick on the rebound. Raven then DDTd Williams for the pin at 8:25 to retain the title. Very good start with the out-of-ring brawling, then it lost steam but remained decent, then got weird during the last couple minutes with the BWO interference. Never got dull and the fans enjoyed it, but Williams showed he was past his prime and Raven didnt get a chance to carry him given how the closing stretch was booked. Decent match, nothing special. **

4. Sandman vs D-Von Dudley

D-Von attacked Sandman at ringside before the bell and hit him with two cane shots. D-Von hit Sandman with a third cane shot and some punches. D-Von whipped Sandman into the barricade and Sandman took his trademark flip bump. Sandman prevented a chairshot and kicked D-Von repeatedly. Sandman whipped D-Von into the barricade and pulled him into the barricade. Sandman hit D-Von with a can of soda and a short clothesline. Sandman dropped D-Von gut first across the barricade and twice slammed a table onto him. They finally entered the ring at 4:35. Sandman scored with three cane shots and DDTd D-Von. Sandman placed a chair on D-Vons face and gave him a top rope legdrop for the pin at 5:34. After the match the angle in which Buh Buh Ray Dudley turned heel on Spike Dudley took place. Buh Buh Ray joined forced with D-Von and they gave Spike what was the debut of the 3D. A high-energy match without much significant athleticism. The chair and cane shots and some of the hard bumps with the barricade were solid enough to make this watchable. Pretty much a run-of-the-mill ECW style match to cap off a run-of-the-mill show that was highlighted by Paul Heymans speech at the open in which he made the announcement of ECWs first PPV. *1/2
