1. Taz (w/Bill Alfonso) vs Johnny Smith

Taz took Smith down with a headlock, Smith countered with a headscissors but Taz kicked out of it. They repeated the same sequence with the roles reversed. Taz rolled up Smith for a one count. Smith turned a headlock into a hammerlock and rolled up Taz. Smith applied a top wristlock but Taz bridged up and took Smith down. They traded slaps and Taz landed some punches in the corner. Smith responded with a bunch of elbows and stomped Taz in the corner. Smith gave Taz a drop toehold and applied a headlock. Smith tackled Taz and hiptossed him. Smith dropkicked Taz and Taz rolled out of the ring. Taz applied a headlock and tackled Smith. They did a criss cross but Smith telegraphed a leapfrog and Taz dropped him on his head with a released German suplex. Taz stomped Smith, gave him an armringer and northern lights suplexed him for a near fall. Taz pounded on Smith�s arm and applied a Fujiwara armbar. Taz applied an armbar and took Smith down to the mat while maintaining the hold. Taz stomped Smith�s arm. Smith countered a German suplex but Taz then countered a German suplex and took Smith down. Taz applied an armbar and pounded Smith�s arm. Taz countered an elbow and applied a Fujiwara armbar. Smith escaped but Taz went for a cross armbreaker. Smith turned Taz over for a near fall and powerslammed him for another near fall. Smith elbowed Taz and gave him an Ace crusher for a near fall. Taz missed a clothesline and Smith German suplexed him for a near fall. Smith gave Taz two kneelifts and a top rope dropkick. Taz caught Smith and gave him a T-bone Tazplex. Taz then applied the Tazmission for the submission win at 9:13. Good technical wrestling match. It lacked a sense of urgency or a few really dramatic near falls to make it great, but both men worked well together. A good undercard match. **1/2

2. Tommy Dreamer, Steve Williams & Terry Gordy vs Brian Lee & The Eliminators (Perry Saturn & John Kronus)

All 6 fought at the start and the action quickly left the ring. Lee whipped Dreamer into the barricade. Williams whipped Saturn into the corner and powerslammed him for a near fall. Williams pounded and slammed Saturn. Williams punched Lee and high kicked Kronus. Dreamer and Williams tackled Saturn. Dreamer elbowsmashed Saturn for a near fall. Dreamer snapmared Saturn but Saturn crotched him on the top rope with a superkick. Saturn snapmared Dreamer to the mat and gave him a second rope rolling neck snap. Lee whipped Dreamer into the corner and powerslammed him. Both men blocked hiptossed but Dreamer superkicked Lee. Kronus did a handspring moonsault onto Dreamer for a near fall. Saturn flipped out of a suplex attempt and gave Dreamer a falcon arrow. Saturn gave Dreamer a lionsault for a near fall. The Eliminators gave Dreamer a double spin kick. Williams press slammed Saturn, tackled Lee and clotheslined Kronus. Williams flapjacked Saturn. Kronus did the hurricane Kronus elbow on Williams but Williams caught him off guard with a Fujiwara armbar. Dreamer gave Saturn a diamond cutter for a near fall. Lee chokeslammed Dreamer but Gordy attacked him with punches. Gordy applied the Asiatic spike on Lee but the Eliminators gave him total elimination. Saturn then pinned Gordy at 20:14 (4:36 aired). Based on the clips that aired, the match seemed pretty lackluster with much weaker heat than you�d expect. Several of the exchanges involving Williams and especially Gordy looked sluggish and sloppy. Dreamer worked well with all three opponents. Probably ** max.
