1. Toshiaki Kawada & Akira Taue vs Takao Omori & Yoshihiro Takayama
Kawada and Takayama traded stiff kicks and knees as fans went nuts. Kawada won the exchange with a high kick in the corner but Takayama fought back with a high kick of his own. Kawada slapped and punched Takayama and gave him an enzuguiri. Kawada hit a spinning roundhouse kick on Takayama as Taue whipped Omori into the barricade. Kawada locked a sleeper on Takayama. Takayama won another stiff exchange with a knee to Kawada’s chest but hurt his own knee in the process. Taue gave Omori a released German suplex and Takayama a high kick. Omori spin kicked and dropkicked Taue. Taue DDTd Omori and gave him a nodowa for a near fall. Taue gave Takayama his double underhook belly to belly suplex and a high kick for a near fall. Omori and Takayama double suplexed Taue but Taue fought back. Taue was going to powerbomb Takayama but Omori gave him an axe bomber. Takayama gained a near fall on Taue after a back suplex/lariat combo. Takayama gained a near fall on Taue with a high kick. Omori and Takayama double powerbombed Kawada and Omori gave Taue an ax bomber. Takayama legdropped Taue and Omori kneedropped him. Takayama pinned Taue at 16:06 after a second legdrop (8:07 aired). Miraculously better than it could have been with Taue vs Takayama due to the stiffness, Kawada’s brutality and amazing fan heat. ***3/4
2. All Japan Double Tag Team Title: Kenta Kobashi & Jun Akiyama (c) vs Johnny Ace & Bart Gunn
Gunn and Ace did a back suplex/neckbreaker combo on Akiyama and Ace gained a near fall. Akiyama back suplexed Ace. Ace caught Kobashi jumping off the second rope with an Ace crusher for a near fall. Gunn gained a near fall on Kobashi and another with a top rope shoulderblock. Kobashi gave Gunn a half nelson German suplex. Akiyama gave both opponents jumping knees and gave Gunn a northern lights suplex for a near fall. Akiyama gained a near fall on Gunn with a top rope jumping knee and another after a double team powerbomb. Akiyama gained a near fall on Gunn with an exploder. Ace gave Akiyama an Ace crusher but Kobashi knocked him out of the ring. Kobashi legdropped Gunn and powerbombed him for a near fall. Gunn high kicked Kobashi and Ace gave him an Ace crusher on the floor. Gunn scored with a left punch on Kobashi. Ace jumped off the top rope but Kobashi met him with a chop. Ace gained a near fall on Akiyama with an Ace crusher. Kobashi and Akiyama gave Ace a powerbomb/top rope elbow combo and Akiyama gained a heated near fall. Gunn chokeslammed Akiyama and Ace gave him a running lariat in the corner. Ace gave Akiyama an Ace crusher and Gunn hit a top rope legdrop for a near fall. Gunn and Ace gave Akiyama a powerbomb/neckbreaker combo and Ace gained a near fall. Ace pinned Akiyama at 19:36 (8:41 aired) after a cobra clutch suplex to win the title. A weaker than usual title match since Gunn is bad in an AJ setting and Ace was a has-been by this point, but Kobashi and Akiyama carried it enough to be a good match with some great moments. ***
3. Jun Akiyama vs Johnny Ace
Akiyama attacked Ace before the bell but Ace fought back with some short lariats in the corner as the Budokan Hall crowd popped huge. Akiyama German suplexed Ace but Ace hit an Ace crusher. Akiyama snap-suplexed Ace on the floor but Ace fought back with an Ace crusher on the floor. Ace gained a near fall with a top rope lariat and another with a powerbomb. Akiyama hit an exploder, a jumping knee and blue thunder for a near fall. Akiyama gained a near fall with an exploder. Akiyama jumped off the top rope but Ace dropkicked him in mid-air. Akiyama hit a jumping knee and countered a powerbomb with a huracanrana for the pin on Ace at 3:20 for a huge pop. A white-hot short match that fans popped huge for. **1/2
