1. All Japan Triple Crown Title: Mitsuharu Misawa (c) vs Vader
Vader easily withstood a barrage of elbows from Misawa early and applied a sleeper. Vader gave Misawa two released German suplexes for a pop and dropped him on his head with a third released German suplex. Vader hit a big splash and a second rope splash for an early near fall. Vader scored with clubbing blows in the corner and went for a moonsault but Misawa recovered. Vader jumped off the second rope into a Misawa elbow. Misawa knocked Vader down with a roaring elbow. Misawa German suplexed Vader twice for a huge pop and a heated near fall. Misawa hit a top rope dropkick and a top rope elbow strike to Vader on the floor. He then scored with a somersault dive off the apron. Misawa went for an elbow suicida but Vader booted him in mid-flight. Vader powerbombed Misawa on the floor and gave him a brainbuster back in the ring for a near fall. Vader attempted a powerbomb but Misawa fought back with some elbows. Misawa back suplexed Vader and hit a top rope splash for a near fall. Misawa gained a near fall with a running elbow and a great near fall with a tiger driver. Misawa came off the second rope but Vader powerslammed him. Vader scored with two sitting splashes and gave Misawa a big splash for a near fall. Vader also gained a near fall with a chokeslam. Misawa landed a couple elbows but Vader flattened him with a lariat. Vader powerbombed Misawa and pinned him at 12:12 to win the title. An amazing, flawless, heated match. Fans popped for everything and given their strengths and weaknesses, Misawa and Vader put on a perfect match. ****1/2
2. All Japan Double Tag Team Title: Kenta Kobashi & Jun Akiyama (c) vs Takao Omori & Yoshihiro Takayama
Akiyama attacked both opponents at the bell as the match started hot. Takayama and Omori gained the advantage during a four way fight. Takayama applied a hanging sleeper on Kobashi in the corner. Takayama high kicked Kobashi twice. Kobashi tried to fight back but Takayama cut him off with a high kick. Takayama gave Kobashi a jumping knee in the corner. Kobashi finally fought back against Takayama with a ton of chops. Omori snuck up on Kobashi with a dropkick but Akiyama then lit into Omori with a ton of elbows yet Omori hit him with an ax bomber. Omori whipped Akiyama into the barricade and DDTd him on the floor. Omori also whipped Kobashi into the barricade. Omori gained a near fall on Akiyama with a piledriver after which he applied a sleeper. Takayama gave Akiyama a high kick in the corner and punted him to the mat. Takayama high kicked Kobashi off the apron and legdropped Akiyama for a near fall. Omori high kicked Akiyama in the corner. Omori hit a full nelson slam on Akiyama and a top rope elbow for a near fall. Omori gained a near fall on Akiyama after he and Takayama double powerbombed him. Akiyama ducked and Takayama accidentally high kicked Omori. Kobashi chopped the crap out of Omori and hit a jumping knee in the corner. Kobashi superkicked Omori and gave him a modified rocker dropper. He powerbombed Omori but Omori fought back with a spin kick. Takayama dropkicked Kobashi and applied a sleeper followed by a crossface. Omori and Takayama did a simultaneous ax bomber and lariat on Kobashi. Omori and Takayama gave Kobashi a back suplex/top rope lariat combo and Takayama gained a near fall. Akiyama attacked both opponents but Takayama punted his head with a high kick. Takayama gave Kobashi one of the stiffest kneelifts you’ll ever see for a heated near fall. Takayama gave Kobashi a jumping knee in the corner but Kobashi responded with a lariat. Kobashi gave Takayama a lariat and pinned him at 14:54. A fantastic match with Omori looking as good as he ever has and Takayama looking exponentially greater than the true quality of his work. ****1/4
