Farseer Diendal addressed the council, �The aliens are converging on the system. We know they are after an artifact and we know that the Exodites will be discovered if we do not act.� �What will we be facing?� �I can not tell you exactly, but I know that great sacrifices will need to be made. I am reluctant to suggest this, but I have no choice. If we are to succeed, we will need to awaken the Avatar.� Gasps sounded throughout the council. The need must be very great to consider awakening the Avatar. After the initial shock, everyone attempted to speak at once. �Why would we need the Avatar? What forces are arrayed against us? What opposition will we meet? Are you completely sure? Is there no other option?� Diendal raised his hand for silence. �I have seen the paths and this is the one we must take.
