MY DAD
In Gods hands now...
What can a guy say about his dad? He had a life that wasn't the richest, with money.
His life wasn't the best with the family. My dad was a very conservative person.
In his very quiet way, he was a hard man to know. He valued his family above all else....
except for his relationship with his God. I know that he was happy with that relationship.
My dad took care of his family.....my mother, sister, and the three of us boys.
Although I was probably the biggest thorn in his side....he never gave up on me. He supported me when
I needed it and criticized when needed. He had to adopt a "tough love" approach to me at one point
in my life. This was the best thing he ever did for me. For that, I am grateful.
The four of us "kids" were very fortunate to be able to be with him, alot, during the last year of
his life. We were all there when he passed on. Our youngest brother was with him and took
care of him this last year. For this we are all grateful.
As I sit and remember my dad....I think mostly of the good times he brought into my life.
As I go thru my daily life, I see him in me in most everything I do. You know....doing
and saying everything I swore I'd never do. Because they were things he did.
And now...I wish I could thank him for instilling these things in my personality.
If you can see and hear me, dad....thank you.
I miss you.
