| Park Sang Ming was a popular boy in school. He had an face with handsome features. Those deep-set eyes that set people thinking. The tall dark well-built physique and of course that charming smile that made girls flock to him in circles. Jina stood at a corner, she felt inferior to the girls. She was just an ordinary looking girl. But, in Sang Ming's heart, there was nobody comparable to Jina. However, she began to avoid Sang Ming, even in St Helena, she didnt even dare to look in his eyes, for fear he might see through her thoughts. Sang Ming thought that Jina was probably busier with her schwork thus didnt find her behavior bizarre. Jina's birthday is in next month, Sang Ming wanted to get her something special this year. He walked past an antique shop and saw this amazing object. It was a locket necklace with the stones having a milky surface, with a bluish tint yet translucent with white, pink, yellow, soft sheen. When the locket opens, it played a fine, mysterious tune. It read "Heart of a Sacred Moonstone ". 3000 won. Sang Ming thought: "This is going to be a perfect birthday gift for Jina." Jina sat in her room. "I'm leaving St Helena soon, but, haiz, how shall i break the news to Oppa." She felt fear again, this time not the fear of approaching him, but the fear of losing him." |

| Sang Ming was always disappearing after school and returning back to St Helena late, often looking tired and worn-out. Jina always sat at her bed and waited for Oppa to come back home and when Sang Ming reached home, she would quietly snugged herself in bed. More and more queries accumulated in Jina's mind. "What is happening to Oppa, Why is he always disappearing and coming home late and etc". Tears flow as she slept.
The bond between them was disappearing. Oppa no longer gave her purple roses. Unable to hold her doubts, she skipped school and waited for Sang Ming outside the school gate. Sang Ming walked out hurriedly from school and was shocked to see Jina at the school gate. Suddenly, Jina grabbed Sang Ming's hand and they ran and ran to a corner. Sang Ming was furious at Jina skipping school. He hollered: "why aren't you in school?, why are you skipping school, what has happened to you?." Jina was stunned at his words. She burst out crying and said: " Oppa, what have you been doing, Why are you always rushing to somewhere? You don't tell me anything anymore, WHY ! WHY! WHY!." Sang Ming kept silent. Jina sniffing and asked: " Is it you have a girl outside , that is why you are often disappearing to no where?" Sang Ming found it ridiculous and he couldn't tell her the reason. He hesitated and said in a fierce tone: " Don't ask anymore, go home", and he rushed off to work . Jina stood there with knees trembling, her heart felt like a million pieces breaking. Oppa doesn't want me anymore, oppa doesn't want Jina anymore ,she was devastated and sank down on the floor. How painful she felt..... |
