This is always the difficult bit, writing about yourself, as you
always start out not having a clue what to say!  Then those of you
who read this bit of my website are usually able to judge how I speak
from what I type!  What can I say?  I'm a typical student.  See I said something!

When I look back on life when I was younger, say about 4 or 5 years ago and compare it to life now,
some of the things I remember just seem laughable!  Well to me anyway :)  Not that life at school wasn't
good, but University life is much much better!  I guess it's all about experience and learning.  Since I started
going out clubbing (which really happened once I left school) I feel a changed person.  What I mean by that
is that I don't let silly things worry me the way I used to.

Stradbally was a big influence on me.  Incase you're wondering it's a village over in the Republic of Ireland,
County Waterford, where some of my family are from.  We have a family house there which we sometimes
go on holiday to.  We haven't been since summer 98 I think.  We were there the year before as well for a
break, and that was really the point when I started to get personally involved with it.  I'm now really looking
forward to going back there with my family and a mate possibly, and having a few pints there!  I won't be
letting nervous feelings get the better of me this time!  It's a pretty little village which seems many years
out of our time and yet still manages to keep up with our presant time!  It's easy to get to know the people over there
as well (mostly)!  I love villages like that which have an old fashioned feel to them and yet still stay within
modern times!

With all the pressure of work and all the technical stuff I do at university, I really like the feel of these villages.
It's refreshing!  For those of you who are wondering, I'm at Hull Uni doing a BMus course in Music.  The
university music department's website is www.hull.ac.uk/music for those of you who are interested!  I guess
you're wondering why I chose Hull when there's so many good universities back home in Glasgow.  Simple
reason -  all the universities are very competative, and it's very difficult to get in.  My first choices were
actually the RSAMD in Glasgow, and Manchester University.  As I said they are very demanding, and
Hull gave me a chance that the others didn't!  That's it in a nutshell!  More or less....

As well as the course which I really enjoy, Hull's given me an opportunity to get into other things like radio.
I'm part of the student radio station, Jam1575, which hardly anyone at Uni knows exists... but that's another
long story!  Since I came to Uni, I've been more into the techie world as well, and I'm understanding things
better.  Technology these days is amazing!  I can even do radio shows at home online!  That's what my link
on the website to shoutcast.com will tell you all about.  Unfortunatley I can't do it while in university
accomodation due to firewall restrictions, and the fact that the proxy servers only allow incoming bandwitdths.

That will all change next year!  I'm moving into a gorgeous house with a lovley lady friend on my course.  It
will be great!  As well as being 5 minutes away from Uni, it has unrestricted internet access, which means I
will be able to do internet radio in Hull... so.... radio shows whenever I feel like it, how good is that?!?!?!
