AROMATHERAPY FOR ANIMALS:
The use of oils on domestic pets and other animals should be approached with caution.Please be very wary of any animal practitioner or supplier of essential oils claiming that their products or techniques are completely safe to use especially on cats......this is both unaccurate and unsafe.No matter what they claim,nothing will change the unique physiology of a cat as this is a major problem for cats.

Most people are aware of warnings that focus on topical and oral administration of essential oils,but they are generally unaware that inhalation of essential oils can also be unsafe for a cat.The oils can affect a cat by absorbtion and inhalation just like a human,and precautions should be made when repeatedly diffusing essential oils,since the development of the liver damage can be a slow process without any visible symptoms.When diffusing oils,try not to use excessive amounts of essential oil,and choose oils which have a lower volatility as possible.Try to also ensure a good air circulation especially during diffusion process,so that local concentrations of essential oil vapours are not built up in non-air changed areas inhabited by the cat.Most people know that humans quickly become used to the intensity of a beautiful aroma and have a habit of freshening it up by adding more essential oils,which is definitely not so good for a cat. |

Please be careful not to use any aromatherapy products in your canine's eyes and nose.Essential oils contain chemical properties and should always be used sensibly.
Never use canine aromatherapy products on cats,birds ferrets,etc.Each species can tolerate essential oils in a different way and some just cannot at all. |

You should never use essential oils near your birds,on your birds nor even diffuse oils near them.
It is suggested that you do not use hydrosols on or around your birds,cats or exotic pets unless perscribed by a holistic doctor or a canine holistic veterinarian |

Animals can be absolutely be treated and comforted with Reiki energy.
Nobody knows exactly what an animal experiences during a Reiki treatment,but something in them seems to let go and relax.They will become very still and seem to sense that something very special is taking place and will gratefully take the energy in. |

Animals have been known to respond very well to Reiki and just as humans Reiki can be used for all types of illnesses,injuries and emotional problems.Reiki can accelerate the healing process of animals,ease the pain and to improve or help to continue their quality of like.The principles of Reiki are the same as if treating a member of the family,a neighbour,a stranger or an animal.Reiki energy flows the same in all cases.It is very unusual to encounter a animal who will not accept Reiki treatment.They will show you by their body positions where to place your hands.Reiki can delay the onset and progression of certain diseases in animals.It is a powerful yet gentle way to provide comfort,relief from pain,fear and anxiety, and to ease the transition to death.
Cats and dogs will usually remain laying down during a Reiki treatment for as long as they need the healing to go on for.They will stand up when they have had enough,usually after 20 - 30mins which will enough for an animal.
For Birds:A Reiki practitioner will place their hands on the cage,or hold the bird in their hands.
For Fish:Placing hands on the side of the tank. |

Crystal Healing on animals requires a very strong and centred mind.
A animals mind is not like a human's.Humans relate to pain,animals react to pain.Any fear you carry inside you can also be sensed by a animal and amplified by the crystals.It is very important to be balanced,centered,grounded,and have good intentions before attempting any crystal healing on a animal. |

When working on an animal a healer must make sure to know when enough is enough for the animal.If the animal starts barring teeth,ears are back,foot stamping,tail swishing hair raised or attempting to flee it's time to stop.The healer must try to slow the healing down or stop healing altogether.Crystal healing can be sometimes to fast for the animal to integrate,or be to intense and may cause pain and other discomforts.Crystal energy promotes rapid healing,easing off may help alleviate the stress caused by a healing crisis.If the healing is good the animal will show signs of comfort and affection.the eyelids will droop,the muscles will relax and possible sighing. |
