Historical Photographs of
Purcellville, Virginia
c. 1908
Eugene Scheel's book "The Story of Purcellville" includes this photo and he describes this location as being on the south side of Main Street with Nursery Ave. (then Taylor's Mill Road) dividing the two frame buildings. This would probably put the Purcellville Bank building about where the town parking lot exists today.

This is the same scene looking the other direction on November 22, 1914 after a fire burned most of the bank building
except for it's brick shell, as well as many other buildings in town. A new, vault-like bank building was built across the
street the next year.
