| Isn't it Obvious? Chapter 20 |
| "Hey Maddy" Justin yelled from his front lawn when he saw her step out of her car. "Oh Hey Justin!" Madison waved and walked to the back of her car. She opened the door and something came out. "When did you get a dog?" Justin asked walking over and petting the large great dane that had just gotten out of Madison's car. "Just today. The owners didn't want her anymore and they were gonna put her to sleep so i kept her" Madison said. "Oh cool. What's her name?" Justin asked petting the dog. "Actually ironically enough, it's Princess" Madison said with a laugh. "That's cute" Justin said. "Looks like Prince gets a new friend" Justin smiled. "Yeah" Madison said. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sitting in her living room she gazed at all the old pictures of her and her friends. They were times when her life was perfect, everything was right. Everyone was happy. Madison flipped through old photos and photo albums. Then her doorbell rang. She quickly got up and was surprised to see who was at the door. "Hey Chris what are you doing here?" Madison asked after she opened the door. "Molly's having one of her crazy lady being pregnant thing and she sent Makaela to a friend's house and kicked me out so i came to justin's but he isn't home so here i am. Hope you don't mind" Chris said walking in. "That's ok I'm not doing anything either. Just looking at old pictues" Madison said with a smile. "When did you get a dog?" Chris asked when he saw the dog laying on the floor. "Like two days ago" Madison said "cool what's it's name?" "HER name is Princess" Madison said. "Ha ha like Prince kinda only girl." Chris said petting her on the head. "So you're looking at pictuers? can i see too?" "Sure come on down." Madison said patting the floor next to her. Chris came down and sat next to her. She handed him some albums. They were pictures from Christmas and Cancun. "Oh cancun that was fun" Chris said. "Yeah" Madison said quietly. "Oh just to let you know. I know" Chris said nonchalantly. "What do you know?" "Please I am married to Molly and she well she talks quite a bit and quite loudly so I know about you still in love with Justin. And also it's kind of hard to believe that you wouldn't love him anymore." Chris said. "Oh that" Madison said. She sighed. "Do you wanna talk about it?" Chris asked. (I know guys usually don't 'talk' but it's fiction for a reason!) "It's just that, well. Can you swear not to tell anyone?" Madison asked. "If you don't mind Molly knowing then fine" Chris said. "Ok well... We kissed... Me and Justin... a couple of weeks ago... more like a week ago or so." Madison said. "I know" Chris said. "You know?" "Yeah, he called Molly and like i said earlier she talks a lot and quite loudly." Chris said with a laugh. "Oh what did he say?" Madison asked as if she didn't care. "That I can't tell, It's personal to him and he would kill me if I told you." Chris said as much as he wanted to tell her so they could be together he absolutely couldn't. "He hates me and he thinks i'm gross doesn't he?" Madison asked and a tear ran down her cheek. "No! Maddy, he doesn't hate you, no!" Chris said. "No I just I can't tell you I'm so sorry" "No Chris I understand. Come on he's getting married to Marie and she's like perfect." Madison more tears flowing onto her cheeks. "Maddy, I swear it isn't like that" Chris said. Just then his cellphone rang. "Hello?" He answered. "Hey...Ok... Are you sure?... ok bye love you too" he hung up. "I gotta go. Molly's over her thing and she's craving Popeye's Chicken so i gotta go pick some up." Chris said getting up. Madison started laughing. "Oh Jeez" "Yeah tell me about it. With Makaela it was McDonalds hot cakes and the thing that sucked was they only have them in the morning." Chris said. as he walked toward the door. "Maddy, don't worry about you and Justin. If you're meant to be together then you will be. Bye" Chris said. "Bye" Madison said and closed the door. She looked down at something glimmering on her neck. It was golden. She held it in her palm tight, never once did it leave that spot on her neck. It was the golden locket Justin had given her for Christmas so many years ago. Why can't things be the way they used to be? Madison asked herself. She sat on her couch watching the TV and thinking. I can't be Marie's bride's maid. It's wrong. I have to tell her now. I can't do it. Madison thought... |
