| Points of Authority Chapter 22 |
| Johnny! What the hell are you doing?" Brooke asked yelling. "Brooke, there's no need to yell. And I swear if you pull out that gun I'll blow his freakin' brains out!" Johnny said pulling out his gun and pointing it at Chris whose eye were wide with shock. Brooke froze. "Now Brookie, I think you have a little confession to make to them." Johnny said. Brooke took a deep breath trying to figure out what to do. Her breaths felt like eternities as the pressure built up on her. "Well Brooke we don't have all night here." Suddenly his voice changed, and he said, "when is she gonna hurry up? I wanna get this over with." Brooke looked at him strangely. Who was he talking to? "Well?" He said in his normal voice. Brooke and three of the guys looked at him strangely. The other 2 were unconscious. "Tell them Brooke. Tell them you aren't Riley! Tell them you're Brooke Bryant! An FBI agent! Tell them you lied! You never liked them!" Johnny yelled in her face and backed her into the wall. "Get the F*** away from me!" Brooke yelled in his face and pushed him away with all her might. Johnny got up from the floor and saw Brooke run over to the guys. "I don't think so!" Johnny yelled and grabbed her by her hair. Brooke screamed and tried to pry his hands from her golden locks. Johnny let go but only for a second. He turned her around to face him. His hands gripped her shoulders tightly for her not to move. She contemplated her next move carefully but quickly. "Don't you ever try anything like that again!" Johnny yelled in her face. Brooke, being disobedient, kicked him in the genitals followed by another one in the head. He yelled in agony as he keeled over to his side. Brooke took that opportunity to pick up the phone and dial 911. Before she had a chance to talk Johnny was back and pulling at her bleach blonde hair. Brooke managed to grab her fully loaded gun. She quickly pointed it at him. If necessary she was ready to shoot. Johnny let go of her hair and took a step back carefully. "We're in deep shit" He said. "Who the hell are you talking to?!" Brooke yelled. "Me" he stated in his changed voice. Suddenly he pulled out his gun. He gripped his gun tightly in his hand and pointed it at Chris. "Now Brookie, you know if you shoot me then I'll shoot him. If it's the last thing i do at least one of them is going." Johnny stated with an evil laugh. Brooke thought carefully for a moment. If she shot him in the head that would kill him instantly and he wouldn't have time to shoot Chris. The silence of the room was bone chilling. She gripped the gun in her sweaty palms. She looked over to Chris. He was tied up, gagged and completely helpless. She had to forget about her feelings and concentrate on getting out of there alive. "Well Brooke. I suggest you put the gun down." Johnny said. Brooke stood still with the gun in her hand. In one swift movement she pulled the trigger and the bullet flew out hitting Johnny in the stomach. As if it were a chain reaction the bullet entered Johnny and left the gun that was tightly secured in his hand. The bullet flew quickly landing in Chris' right leg. Both Chris and Johnny yelled in agony. As Johnny bent over clutching his stomach the hotel room door flew open and 5 guns entered quickly. Lisa along with Jim and 3 other agents entered the room. Paramedics soon followed. "Are you ok?" Lisa asked once the paramedics had gotten to Chirs and Johnny. "Yeah I'm fine." Brooke answered. Johnny, Chris, Justin and Joey were carried out and to the hospital on stretchers. While JC and Lance were pulled over to be questioned. "Good work Bryant." Moor said and walked away with a proud smile. A feeling over came her. She had felt it before but it had been far too long ago to actually remember vividly. It was the distinct feeling of pride. She had accomplished something great. Yet she felt terrible. What would happen to her's and Chris' relationship? Brooke walked silently among all the chaous around her. She saw Lance and JC sitting in the back of an open ambulence with dark brown blankets wrapped around them. She slowly walked over to them. "Hey" She said quietly. "So you aren't Riley and you're an FBI agent. Anything else we should know?" JC asked angrily. "Actually yeah. I'm 30 not 28. I'm brunette not blonde, I have brown eyes not blue. And this," She said referring to the pin camera on her shirt, "Is a camera." She said and unpinned it and put in gently in her pocket. "Chris honestly liked you. You don't deserve him." Lance said a bit angrily. "You're right." Brooke said guiltfully. "He deserves so much better than me. I lied and he doesn't even really know me, but I was only doing my job." Brooke justified. "Riley, I mean Brooke. We shouldn't be ones to be rude. After all you saved us but maybe you aren't the best for him." JC said. "Is he ok?" Brooke asked concerned. "The doctor said he's going to be fine." Lance said. "BRYANT!" They heard someone yell. "I have to go. You guys take care of yourselves." Brooke said. "Bye" They both said in unison. Brooke turned around to be faced by Jill and Katie. "Hi" Brooke said nervously. "Hi" They said and rushed over to their boyfriends. Brooke looked at the love in each of their eyes. It was something she longed for, she yearned for it. Perhaps it would be something she would never achieve. "BRYANT!" Someone yelled again. "Maybe I'll see you guys around sometime." Brooke smiled warmly and walked away before they had a chance to say anything else. This way they could not see the tears that were about to escape her eyes and flow freely down her face. She didn't cry. Not her. She hid her face. I never cry. She thought. Why am I crying? Perhaps it was the fact that she was leaving a great group of people and a person she honestly loved. |
