| "Hello?" Lisa answered. "Lee! We need to talk." Brooke said eagerly. "Ok what's up?" "No! I mean... this is too important to say over the phone." "Well, what did you have in mind?" Lisa asked. "We have the day off. Can we go somewhere?" "Yeah, where do you want me to meet you?" "There's a Starbucks at the corner of Lyons and Valley. Can you meet me there in about an hour?" "Yeah see ya then!" Lee said. "Ok Bye" Brooke said and hung up. Brooke went up to her room. She grabbed her purse and fixed her hair. Then she walked out to go meet Lisa. "Hey Riley!" Chris said from behind her. "Oh hey Chris" Brooke said with a smile. "What are you doing today?" He asked. "Actually, ugh my friend Lisa is in town so I'm going to meet up with her in a bit." Brooke explained. "Oh cool." Chris said. "Yeah" "Well, If you aren't busy for dinner I thought maybe you would like to go out with me?" Chris asked. nervously. Brooke thought about it. I can't say no! Brooke thought to herself, But I'm not supposed to get involved. "Ugh Sure!" Brooke said. I couldn't say no! She told herself. "Great. Well umm tell me when you get back ok" "Ok, Well I gotta go I'll talk to you later. Brooke smiled and walked away. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Brooke walked into Starbucks and searched around to see if Lisa had arrived. She spotted her sitting at a table reading a magazine. Brooke walked over to her nervously. "Hey Lee!" Brooke said. It had been a while since she had seen her. "Hey B!" Lisa said and stood up to give her a hug. "How've you been?" Brooke asked. "Good! Now what did you need to tell me?" Lisa asked curiously and Brooke tensed up. "Ugh" Brooke said and took a deep breath. Lisa looked at her closely. "Remember on the phone when I said I thought I was falling for Chris?" Brooke asked. "Yeah, How could I forget?" Lisa laughed. "Well, now I'm almos positive I've fallen." Brooke said nervously waiting for a reaction. "How hard?" Lee asked. "Let's put it this way. I would be in intensive care." "Umm... B I don't know what to say." "You don't have to say anything. It's me not you." "I know, but B... Are you guys like together now?" "Well.. no... not officially, but he asked me to dinner tonight." "Brooke, I'm not trying to be a bad friend but I have to say this." Lisa started. "Say what?" Brooke asked. "You can't be with him." Lee said quietly. "Lee..." Brooke started. "Listen to me first." "Fine, what?" Brooke said. "Ok, you'll be happy now, but what happens when this is over and he finds out you aren't Riley? And what if something happens to him? You know Devin Marks if really powerful and-" Lisa said before she was interrupted. "NO! Devin Marks is not hurting him or anyone I love ever again! It's not happening!" Brooke said angrily. "Brooke, is that why you're on this case? To catch Devin Marks because of what he did to your parents?" "Lee, you dont' understand he destroyed my family I'm not letting him do that to anyone else." "Ok... Just Brooke please be careful. I don't want you to get hurt." Lisa said softly. "I won't. He loves me. He told me" Brooke said innocently. "Brooke. Please don't be stupid. You aren't yourself around him." Brooke didn't say anything for a while. "Does Jim know?" Brooke finally asked. "Yeah, and he shit a brick. But he let me come to talk to you. I atleast tried to talk some sense into you." Lisa sighed. "Lee, I'm sorry. I just ... I wish you could know how I feel whatn I'm around him." Brooke said. "How?" "It's unexplainable. It's this foreign thing I've never felt before, and it's wonderful. Like I can do anything and nothing is wrong in the world when I'm with him. He just makes me happy." Brooke explained. "Girly, You got it bad." Lisa giggled. Brooke just smiled. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Brooke lazily walked back into the hotel. She rode the elevator up to their floor and got off. She heard a banging noise coming from down the hall and her FBI instincs kicked in. Brooke quietly walked over she was ready to grab her gun if she needed to. She walked around the corner and relaxed when she was Jill banging on the soda machine. "You know I really don't think the hotel appreciates people beating up their soda machines." Brooke smiled. "Oh hey Riley!" Jill said. "Hey Having trouble?" "Yeah a little." Jill said. Brooke walked over banged on the machine once and a soda come out. Jill watched in awe. "How did you do that?" Jill asked. "Magic" Brooke stated simply with a grin. Jill just smiled back. "So what's going on with you and Chris?" Jill asked curiously. "What do you mean?" Brooke asked. She was shocked anyone knew about it. "Come on let's go talk in a room." Jill said. They walked to Brooke's room and went inside. "Ok now would you like to tell me?" Jill asked. "What is there to tell?" Brooke asked. "Oh I dont' know, How about what's going on with you and Chris!" Jill exclaimed. "I don't know exactly. I was hoping to find out tonight." "But didn't you guys kiss?" Jill asked. "How did you know?" Brooke asked. "Chris and JC talked I just happened to overhear." "Right" Brooke said. "So..." "I don't know I like him... a lot. He's wonderful." "But...?" Jill asked. "No buts and that's kinda what freaks me out about the whole situation." Brooke said. "So are you guys going out?" "Yeah tonight actually." "Ooh well I think you and Chris are perfect for eachother." "Thanks" Brooke said. "I gotta go, this 7up is for JC. He's a bit sick." Jill laughed. "Ok bye!" -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Brooke opened the door after a knock. Chris was on the other side. She had just finished gtting ready. "Hey!" Brooke said with a bright smile. "Hey, You look great!" Chris complimented. "Thanks" "Are you ready to go?" Chris asked. "Yeah" Brooke said and shut her hotel room door. "Where are we going?" Brooke asked. "Elephant Bar. If that's ok?" Chris said. "Cool, I've never been there." Brooke said. They went to the Elephant Bar. Everything was decorated safari style. They walked in and were seated. "So... Chris can we talk about what happened on the room?" Brooke asked once they had ordered. "Ok. What do you want to say about it?" "Well, I just kinda wanna know what's going on with 'us'." Brooke said. "That's kinda what I wanted to know also." "Oh well..." Brooke started not knowing what to say. "Riley. I really like you. Jeez that sounded lame" He laughed. "That's ok. I like you a lot too" She said cheesily trying to make him feel better. Chris laughed. They were caught in a silence. Luckily their food arrived so they didn't have to talk too much. They finished eating then left. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chris and Brooke stood outside Brooke's hotel room. "Riley, about what we were talking about earlier." Chris started. "Yeah?" "I would definetly like to be more that friends." Chris smiled. "Well if we aren't friends then what?" Brooke asked with a grin. "Um.. maybe... maybe" Chris said. "Yeah" Brooke said waiting for him to say the word 'girlfriend' or anything near it. "Girlfriend type relationship." Chris said quickly. "Oh yeah!" Brooke said 'blondly'. Chris just laughed. He leant forward and kissed her softly on the lips. "Goodnight Chris" Brooke said once they pulled apart. "Goodnight" Chris said and watched her walk into her room.
