- Here are the pix from baby Katherine’s birth! These pictures are from Dec. 12, 2001.
First up – Grace at the hospital. Here I am in my hospital gown in all my pregnancy. Mom points out how my toes, as always, are curled under.
Here I am getting prepped for surgery (ugh!), Chris hovering nearby. On my right arm is the blood pressure cuff (left on just about continuously for hours). On my left arm is the IV input, looking rather reddish (guess why) around the tape holding it in.
Now it’s Chris’ turn to get ready for surgery! Yes, he’s putting the gown on backwards – Mom didn’t tell him until after she took the picture, of course.
Here’s our little girl shortly after being born! She is all washed and cleaned and they combed her hair into a point. Doesn’t she look like a big girl already? And with a full head of dark brown hair like Daddy’s! Weight at birth: 7 lb 10 oz. Length: 20-1/2 inches.
Daddy Chris greeting his poor confused little girl. ^_^ She is not a screamer or even much of a cryer. But she does look like “What is going on? Who are you people?” (I am off in the recovery room at this point, by the way – the other person in the picture is a nurse.)
Now she’s all bundled up and Chris is out of his scrubs.
